I'll be the first to admit that I'm a sucker for gem genes. Bee, Koi, and Stained have such a grip on my wallet and it's a constant struggle. However, that doesn't mean all my favorite genes have to leave me broke!!
I [b]adore[/b] Python, it adds such a fun pattern and (sometimes) fantastic accent colors without making the dragon feel [i]too[/i] busy visually.

And I [b]love[/b] Paisley! By far the most plentiful gene in my hoard thanks to Night of the Nocturne, but I use it so much. I love the elegant, almost embroidered look it gives a dragon's wings :)

And Sailfish/Marlin are great on ancients, I'm [i]really[/i] hoping that they eventually get ported over to moderns as well! They have some of the most vibrant and fun accent colors I've seen in genes! These colors are Fuchsia and Caribbean!

Boulder/Myrid, Flaunt/Flair, and Tide/Foam. Fern/Paisley are great too, I just usually like one of the aforementioned genes better.

boulder/myrid, tide/foam, and py/morph are all fantastic. boulder/myrid are my favorite patterned but (usually) non-accented genes AND they are free...stay winning Arlo. and py/morph are super useful for (usually) adding black but not being as stark as pharaoh/sarc.
tert-wise, can't forget about the GOAT capsule. last year's update that straight up reduced the brew cost by 50% was the best thing for my wallet

flaunt/flair, fern/paisley are the newer genes i really like. as for the older genes, i actually did like tiger/stripes as well as ripple/current in some cases for a more weathered look.
it's crazy seeing how amazing some of the newer genes look. last time i used this site this frequently i was aiming for an iri/shim/circuit because that was just the goat at the time, and now i'm liking how some cheaper genes look much more in comparison.
