Saethuryx's Clan

Saethuryx

A semi-functional clan of dragons hailing from many different regions of Sornieth. Some only stay for a few days for training while others stay for years to maintain the clan and the floating island it rests on.

The small island broke free from the rest of Hoverview Vale during an unintentionally-explosive experiment that siphoned far too much magic from the surrounding area, blasting it nearly into the ocean and disconnecting it from the force that holds the vale aloft. This event was significant enough to become the center of the clan's local calendar system, with time being tracked as years "After Disconnect" (AD).

Unfortunately, because the island isn't particularly buoyant in water nor particularly stable on the ground, upkeep with a continuous stream of energy is now required to keep the island afloat.

The mass of crystal, rock, and dirt currently floats slightly to the west of Starfall Isles, over the ocean encompassing the main continent.

Stay clear of the crystal growths on the bottom of the island!

"I can't find him in this rubble!"

"We gotta do something, I can't even touch the ground!"

"FIVE THOUSAND."

"Prayer! Eryth! We need to go now! Grab onto me!"

"THREE THOUSAND."

"But Syl-"

"-Ow..."

"Who turned the gravity back on like that? I'm gonna be feeling that one in the morning..."

"We aren't falling anymore?"

"Stabilized. Two thousand three hundred meters."

"Good thing he installed that thing, made me feel so much better about dropping out of the sky, ack."

"Found him!"

"He better start explaining himself when he wakes up, I think one of my legs broke."

"My wings are bending in all the wrong places too."

"Cannot... let it touch the ground... Overcharged..."

"He's completely out of it. Let's just wait until tomorrow. I'll wake all of you up if we start falling again."

"Hello Aesin, good to see that you have arrived on time."

"You know I wouldn't miss this, it's the best part!"

"This feels about right. It's almost like our Starfall Celebrations back in the day."

"Hey, Mistral Jamboree is nice too... maybe we should celebrate that as well when it comes around next time."

"I'd second this idea."

"We can discuss the logistics of our respective flights' holidays later, for now we should enjoy ourselves."

"Wait. What song is this? Why is it playing over the emergency speakers?"

"I'm not sure. Prayer, do you know anything about this?"

"I might."

"Really, Eryth..."

"This song's pretty cool though, gotta give him credit for that."

"Ah, I see. Very clever, Eryth. Perhaps a bit on the nose, though."
