A 'Hollow' gene would be perfect for villain OC's! It would have holes speckled through the body that you could see through, as if a few termites gnawed a few tunnels.
That would be extremely bad for people with trypophobia. That’s like their worst fear

a textured gene (preferably available on moderns) along the lines of facet and metallic and slime that makes it look like the dragon is made of crumbly solid rock, just like the earthshaker, the earth sprite, several other familiars, and a lot of skins. it could be called stonehide and rockcast or boulder and crags or something. stonehide and bouldercrag? cragback and boulder? granite and petrified? Complete idiot posted in the wrong gene suggestion thread, but I'm here now to advocate for Pin/Trail as well as the slime prim/sec for Veilspun.
Shadow ancient gotta be goopy!

Man. This has probably been said before, but I don't know where, so... I would really like Slime/Sludge for Ancients? Veils seem the most obvious choice, because they could look perfectly like Shadowbinder's goopy drool, although I can see their long, stringy hair being hard to work with. Personally, I would like to see it on Banescales; it would give them another pri/sec pair with a less matte texture (all they have right now is Met/Alloy, as opposed to Gaolers, who have Cry/Face and Wasp/Bee, and even Veilspuns, who have Star/Con and Wasp/Bee), and it would probably(?) be easier to draw on the hairless breed. Also, it'd be great for lava dragons!

On a similar note, if there's any gene I want ported to Moderns, it's probably Shell/Web. On the one hand, I do feel a bit bad suggesting we take away something that makes Veils "special," but on the other, I really like the unique palettes, and I think the pattern would look great on Imps, Spirals, and any sort of fish-themed dragon!

Would love more soft primary designs like this that aren't super noisy/pattern heavy, to balance well with noisy secondary genes / terts while still being interesting.
