I like the idea of creating a new feature and keeping current Gathering as it is (and improve it, because right now it's pretty silly how it gets harder to find rare items the higher level you are).

I totally agree that it would be more immersive to dedicate dragons to different tasks, kind of like in Lioden.

Why not have the account-bound gathering mechanic as it is, and have an additional dragon-bound mechanic along side it? Maybe the selected dragon could bring an extra item when you gather things. Kinda like the extra currency drops for fests and micro holidays, except all year round! Maybe the more a dragon levels in gathering the greater the chance for them to bring back multiple items. AND! Maybe when you exalt a dragon with higher gathering levels, you receive a higher payout just like coli leveling. Just to balance it out, otherwise you would only need one dragon for gathering. I feel like that would be a good way to incentive using multiple dragons. [emoji=insect size=1][emoji=meat size=1][emoji=plant size=1][emoji=seafood size=1]

Time to do some Daily Dragoning!
I like this idea quite a lot. I think it'd be lovely to have more uses for dragons and more stats that make them, in some way, unique and more valuable. But, honestly, just more unique would be appreciated from a lore-building sense. You could say, "This is NAME, and they are my clan's foraging specialist." And it would actually be accurate, and shown on their profile, instead of just something you wrote (which is good, as well, but different). Basically, I'm always in favor of adding more flavor and immersion.

The way the gathering pools work does need changing because it's basically broken atm (there are other threads that dive into that), but I don't think it needs a change in gameplay design. Select and click is fine, making it a mini game isn't needed

With that said, I do agree with others that this could be a fun, separate mechanic from gathering. It would give dragons more lore opportunities, depth, and gameplay. And, as an added bonus, wouldn't take away or change gameplay for users who don't want to do it (again, if it was its own thing)
