It Could use some more stripes on the wing and tail though.

this is kind of poorly done, but i thought it would be neat to have a gene like "white masking" or whatever it's called in dogs.
like the white parts in this dog:

with the gene:

without:

I actually really like the concept of this tert! I could really get behind it! :D

Mistfall suggested this as a primary gene, but I wanted to come suggest it here because I personally think it would work much better as a tertiary.
Bioluminescent spots. They could be along the wing edges and possibly the wing arm, on any frills/horns the different breeds have, maybe a few under the eyes, down along the back and tail... I'll use the PSDs and try out a few examples to post cuz I'm interested in actually seeing it myself and playing around with what would look best XD
Here's a Guardian Female example, Obsidian/Black/Leaf
I'm sure the great artists of FR would make it look even cooler, but there's enough for a basic idea of what it could look like anyway XD

I thought it might be neat to have a tertiary gene that changes shape and coverage based on primary and secondary genes being applied.
To begin, here is a triple basic Iris/Lavender/Gold dragon:

Iris Basic
Lavender Basic
Gold Basic
Now, here is that same dragon but with Gold Blend:

Iris Basic
Lavender Basic
Gold Blend
Kinda boring, right?…But wait! The magic is in the reacting primary and secondary!

Iris Current
Lavender Butterfly
Gold Blend
And here’s a couple more:

Iris Piebald
Lavender Alloy
Gold Blend

Iris Skink
Lavender Toxin
Gold Blend
And just to demonstrate (a bit roughly) further, here’s the same dragon but with a Pink tert instead of Gold:

Iris Skink
Lavendar Toxin
Pink Blend
Thanks for checking this out. Even if it's technically difficult to implement, or someone has suggested something similar, it's still something I'd love to have.

Well ... even if I'll skip part "how many time and work is needed" - lot of combinations will look ugly. Of course special beauty with this gene is possible, and I know - almost all genes with odd colors looks ugly, but I think this one have special potential for this look. Tell me if Im wrong, but - isn't it would be harder than poison or toxin to work with..?

This could be a really cool gene and might even work well as a sort of anti-runes gene in the lore for it! I really this idea. Its very simple and wouldn't cause the artists to much strain.

I tried to do something more complicated, but my attempt with a keltic pattern failed greatly XD
So here's what I did instead
Chinese pattern
