A lot of the way flight rising is set up doesnt really support a dark theme from what i can tell. its doable, but it would be a big hassle, so i can see why they haven't gone for it at all.
almost every page has what i call an embedded background, an image thats just. a background image

if you just changed the background of the site to be a darker color, this photo would stay white and would clash horribly. All of the art for these back splashes would need to be completely reedited, which is a tedious process.
Theres at least 15 that i know of; 11 for all the flights, scrrying workshop, forum backgrounds, dressing rooms, world map, and more. everytime i squint and look at the background of pages, i find more. thats a lot of art to be resaturated and reedited, not to mention all the coding..
anyways, this isnt to say i dont want dark mode. id love it! Its just a little of my thoughts on why staff hasnt really said much / done anything about it

They're actually all just basic images.. so.. instead of using
"<img src="http://www1.flightrising.com/static/layout/under_shadow.png" class="under-shadow">"
you can use " background-image: url(https://www.tdestudio.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/dark-background-texture-of-beech-hd.jpg)
I just edited the HTML and was able to change my own BG image, I'm sure someone with some coding experience can make a chrome extension that basically just edits all the BG images..
Or you can do it manually yourself if you're writing a long post in the forums...

yeah, but I suggest searching how to make a chrome plugin.. I believe you can have the plugin automatically change the images... I'll do a quick search to confirm..

I tried it out and it makes the site looks like poo but you can edit that a bit..
