Janus held up a claw to wait. A blur of white and black sped through, tackling Janus as they swung their staff at full force, hurtling the trapped spirit through the aura. Their staff clattered on the floor, landing at the Guardians' feet.
The spirit yelped briefly in horror, wriggling in the red dragon's maw to no avail. It flew through a darker aura materializing around the great tree. Its screams were silenced. A vortex with cracked edges remained in its place.
"Not a lot of time, but workable. He's badly wounded and won't be able to get out on his own." Janus sounded dazed and difficult to hear under a large, wriggling wolf cape. "We'll need another healer or two. I can only do so much for him - ow!"
Janus snapped at the wolf cape's head.
"Hey! I need that eye for the extraction mission." Sarval turned and lifted the cape to reveal his face. He grinned at Teluria.
"And you must be the old earth drake's daughter. The name's Sarval. We'll get your father back safe, sweetheart."
He mouthed "Right?" to Heisiss and Chase.
Kirin plucked a brown leaf out of his mane and held it up, scrutinizing Garifae's face.
"Your eye color would show your flight. I thought you and Teluria shared a flight, but you landed away from her..."
