When
Zyr, the clan's personal messenger, received the invitation from Droseran's clan, he initially wanted to hide it from Zishyry, knowing that she'd likely want to compete and worrying this won't end well and only reflect badly on their clan. But when he let
Rezyaz, one of the clan leader's, know about the invitation, Rezyaz did not want to participate himself and there is only a single other pair of parents at the lair, so with a quiet sigh, the choice was made.
Zishyry is an artistic whirlwind of a dragon, finding random passions around every corner and starting way too many projects, only for most of them ending up as half finished pieces littering the lair. She has a very laid back parenting style, believing it's best to let the young find their boundaries themselves.
Her only daughter Kiy grew up with a bit of a difficult –even cruel– side to her. Her enjoyment for toying with her food made the clan put her on 'pest control' duty, keeping critters, scavengers, and insects off their hoard and food reserves, which she does with an almost sadistic joy.
Kiy's father Ezcyar studied magic before he joined the lair and is still loosely engaged with it whenever he finds the time, but his main focus has now become his family. He does not necessarily agree with his mate's parenting style, but lacks the ability to assert himself to do anything about it.
Also with them is their recently adopted son Cear, who hatched as the offspring of wild, clan-less dragons and has quickly become a treasured family member for Ezycar specifically, and a very good friend to Kiy – which unfortunately means that some of her mean and mischievous tendencies rubbed off on him.
As the three of them enter Drosera's clan grounds and approach Istian's tavern, Zishyry is eagerly taking the initiative to speak for the whole family. Her daughter Kiy close by her side looking somewhat disinterested as she pays more attention to the surroundings and other competitors than to the tavern keeper and the conversation itself.
Zishyry: "Istian. Hello, nice to meet you. I am Zishyry and this is my daughter Kiy. We're here to compete –and win– in the Great Family Fete. You should have received our application I trust?
You two, get over here!"
She beckons her mate and Cear over with her wing. Ezcyar greets the Gaoler with a little bow of his head while Cear just remains quiet and rather expressionless.
Zishyry: "These are my mate Ezcyar and our foster child Cear. They're mainly here for support."
Ezcyar: "I'll happily compete as well if some of the activities require both parents to participate."
Ezcyar's main concern is to hopefully keep Zishyry and Kiy under control. He knows his little family and how
passionate they can be. He brought Cear along primarily to not leave him back at the lair without the rest of his family and because Kiy really wanted him to join, though he does feel a little out of place. Since Cear isn't blood related, Ezcyar wasn't sure if he'd even be allowed to compete, and he definitely does not want himself and Cear to become an opponent of Zishyry's; so he'll happily watch from the sidelines and offer moral support instead.
Zishyry: "Ah, perfect, perfect. Here if you would, darlings."
Zishyry hands the Gaoler and Banescale girls their personal belongings, various art supplies and magical objects from both herself and her mate.
