Typically as stable owners/workers with a few breeders and riders mixed in. What makes Stella rather unique is the fact she's legally blind yet has quite a bit of promise as a rider and hasn't let her vision stop her from doing things that others can. Not to say she was the perfect little student in the Academy as she made decent grades, but not the sort that'd get her first pick, the sort that net you second or third… However, it didn't really matter since the beast that chose her formed a bond due to the shared visual troubles. ______________ ______________
[nextcol] Weaknesses:

Stella is legally blind, as she has some vision but it's very limited when compared to that of a normal human. She can tell the difference between light and shadow, and sees things as silhouettes.
Due to her light based vision, Stella has severe nyctophobia (fear of the dark) as that is when she is truly blind.
She has a hard time looking for objects on the ground or seeing tripping/bumping hazards from time to time, especially in new areas… And hates stairs/escalators with a passion.
[/columns] Special Skills:

Stella can read/write braille. Dunno how useful that is but it's really the only way she can read unassisted. You could do something fun with this.
Stella's immune system is significantly stronger than that of most, as her mount produces low levels of an allergen/virus [will explain more when I get there] and just by being around it rather often she's built up a high tolerance for that sort of thing.
If she focuses and Shadow is willing, she can sort of tap into his senses a bit. Allowing her to have a bit of thermal sense and to sort of tap into his other mode of vision. At first this is directly using Shadow's senses to do this but over time, Stella will be capable of using a watered down version of Shadow's virus sense.
Eventually Stella will be able to become a vector for the virus Shadow carries. Immune yet able to be a healthy carrier, truly quite deadly if you need to take someone out rather quietly.
Inventory: A longsword, nothing terribly special about it. Goals and Motivations: Stella wants to protect the people she cares about, and the what doesn't so much matter to her. She'd also like it if the academy was a bit more accessible to the average person but that's more or less a side goal. Personality: Stella comes off as rather shy towards others at first and she's a little easier to startle than others. She's a touch insecure about herself and if people think less of her for being as visually impaired as she is. Will she share this with anyone? No, but she will seriously judge you if you vocalize this around her. Possibly throwing hands, depends on what you said. However, if Stella decides that she likes you it becomes a rather different story. She will be a fairly loyal friend and absolutely won't leave you hanging for any reason. Host assigned abilities, mildly related to things here: Keen: Good eyes and always alert to your surroundings. Good odds for investigating, learning, and remembering. His wing-arms are quite strong and end in a four fingered hand that while armed with sharp claws is similar to a human hand. When not in use Shadow's wings fold along his back like a cape and his 'hands' rest on his shoulders. His scales are a glistening black like those of a beetle and seem to produce a fine black powder. His head lacks any sort of eyes but there are a pair of hard horn-like feelers that can be raised or lowered to 'see' along with evidence of heat sensing pits. There is a bit of bioluminescent markings under the wings, but they don't seem to glow all the time (blue to purple), same for around the face and under/on the feelers (only purple). Skills and Abilities: Str: 9 | Agi: 5 | Res: 4 | Connection: 6 | HP:13 |[columns] Strengths:

Shadow has quite a bit of mobility, using his wing-arms in a similar manner to a human's arms and even being able to use them as extra legs or as a way to get more claw-holds on a surface.
You really can't hide from Shadow, sure he might be blind but he sees in a very different way.
You are not making Shadow sick from an illness, just give up on that idea right now.
Shadow's scales are incredibly waterproof, meaning he takes little to no damage from water based attacks, unless you like try to drown him... But good luck with that. This somewhat applies to ice since it is just frozen water but it can do a bit of harm.
[nextcol] Weaknesses:_________________

While capable of flight, Shadow really doesn't like flying, as he's essentially taking a leap of faith and isn't comfortable with that.
Okay, I kinda lied when I said you can't hide from him, as if you can avoid getting much of his powder on you he can really only sense your body heat.
It's fairly hard for Shadow to work well with others due to his ability and habit of making others sick.
If his feelers are up, they are very sensitive to being touched and therefore very painful to take a hit to.
Shadow is super weak to fire, as it can burn away his viral scales and mess with his heat vision, somewhat weak to electricity due to it burning but no where near as much as fire.
[/columns] Special Skills:

Aside from the obvious flight and thermal senses… Shadow has a very interesting ability. The 'fine black powder' I mentioned is constantly created and comes off Shadow's body, wings, and can be exhaled. It contains a viral load that is usually kept to a more harmless strain that's similar to having allergies or a light cold, however it can be twisted into something much more harmful. The virus typically weakens humans and makes wounds heal much slower, however in things that are more beast like (and quite possibly Null if it has beast things, otherwise it'd just be a fatal virus or smth) the virus at first weakens them, brings them to the brink of death, then takes over and makes the victims become violent before eventually leading to death. In tamed beasts this virus is easily curable while in the weakening phase. In terms of a more gamey mechanic explanation, think of Shadow as being able to make buffing strains (with drawbacks) and able to both debuff and instigate chaos on the opposing side. As he has some loose form of control in terms of what the virus will do. (sorry for the long explanation, but it kinda needed to be there. I can ofc nerf the hell out of this)
Shadow can 'see' the particles of his virus and is able to build a picture of the world that way. His feelers are able to pick up on these particles much more delicately when raised rather than lowered.
Personality: Shadow is very friendly and loyal towards Stella, and will come to her aid if she's being hurt, or be seen breaking down buildings attempting to get to her. He typically won't get aggressive towards someone unless he just decides that he hates your vibe or you instigate it. He acts rather indifferent towards people unless Stella has strong feelings about them either way. Relationship: Stella and Shadow have a very interesting relationship as the very reason Shadow bonded with Stella is because she too is blind. After all one of the very first things he'll do with the bond is let her see what he's 'seeing'. It is also a relationship built on trust, as Shadow trusts Stella to not lead him towards something deadly (that he can't sense) and Stella trusts Shadow to sense things she can't see and not let her get hurt by it. For their connection, the pair have a surprisingly open bond when it comes to communicating, could have something to do with how often they end up sharing senses. ------------- Again like I said, I'll gladly shoot Shadow's virus with a nerf dart and take suggestions on how to do so. What's there currently is my initial thoughts to explain it. Also, hi Star!

Acrobatics, quick tricks, and music, all which would readily distract the good samaritans and productive members of society. More than a few times the floor’s guards would chase him off, but never really inflict consequences. He could be a bit of a nuisance, but one that kept up the floor’s morale even when most were living on the tight end of the ‘middle floors’. Or at least, so it would seem. The truth? Loch was a distraction, and that was the only reason his Mother let him do what he wanted. She was a woman of business and profits, the kind that comes with secrets and smuggling. If there was something you needed, information or otherwise, then odds were she could help you… for a price. She had expectations, and not meeting the ones she already built, a line in the sand had become very clear between them: as long as he could make his performance useful, he wouldn’t be forced to provide by other means. Although the money was never his to keep. Even on the rare occasions he got to do an official show in an actual theater. Growing up Loch didn’t see much of his mother, at least not in his younger years. When there was an adult around it was usually his uncle, a man who was equally as dubious in morality as his mother and worked in aquaculture, which sparked Loch’s love of the water. Eventually came the point where he became more and more insistent against his usual ‘work’, disappearing into the streets when he could and mingling. A source of strife up until his mid-teens, when his mother gave way and saw merit in his people skills. Several times through the years they would butt heads, when Loch would attempt to branch out further than her reach. He couldn’t leave floor four though, which meant no escaping his Mother. A few years ago his Uncle ‘disappeared’, or more accurately was arrested. Despite it being a willing sacrifice to some degree, Loch’s Mother began to instill a bit more caution and tug his leash even tighter. When the call came for him to join the Crucible, he didn’t care how it happened. They were gone, and had very little plan of looking back. But not before she could impart the little thought that someone might have caught on to her business, and be trying to weasel information out of him about her.

- Sociable: Loch is bright and charismatic! A ‘people person’ and people tend to person right back.
- Perception: Spending so much time on his own and with people, Loch tends to stay aware of his surroundings.

Weakness:
- Trust: Surrendering fully to people is a no-no. He’s got this far with his own two feet, and does what he wants.
- Mechanics: Using technology is one thing, understanding its mechanisms is another. Highest level academics aren’t his style, and he’s not the sort you’ll see carrying around a physics text book for fun.
- Brute Force: Not that he’s physically weak necessarily, just… Loch is a person of finesse.

Skills:
- Melodic: Enchanting and soothing, in voice, action, and music.
- Insight: Spending lots of time around people made him a bit more keyed in to people’s reactions, true or false.
- Escapist: Loch has nimble wrists and sure steps… on top of actually making an escape or many in his time! They’re not the easiest to get a hold of, and even harder to keep that way.

Inventory:
Wooden Flute _______________________________________________
Simple Flute: A small metal flute. Despite its make, the sounds it produces are especially pleasant and leave behind a feeling of comfort.

HISTORY

Floor: 4
Backstory:
The majority of Loch’s life on floor four, was spent being a street performer!
