Acornpelt looked over the misty clearing from a tall, inclined rock sweeping over the verdant grass freshened with dew. Rain pattered down across the gloomy glade, forming puddles between patches of grass and mud. Acornpelt's ears flattened when rain hit the back of them heavily, the calico cat hopping forward onto another stone lower, then making one final leap before splashing a muddy brown puddle of rainwater.
Rain clung to his long-fur pelt, dripping off from his underbelly. His amber eyes seemed to glow in the foggy shade, his tail sweeping side to side. The calico pranced quickly across the forest undergrowth, leaping under the dense canopy of dewy tree leaves and foggy air.
Acornpelt crouched, then leapt onto an arching root of a tall dark oak tree. He continued making his way upwards until he was at the top branches, leaping over to the next and then suddenly crouching, his bottom fur brushing against the tree. Cats. He thought to himself, then lifting his ears to listen. His nose twitched as he sniffed the misty air, breathing in the soft, dewy scent.
The rain had settled, but not to the point where it stopped.
(If anyone wants to find him while on patrol, it might make this a bit more interesting.)
