“A dark and eerie night sky is seen, devoid of stars. A small feline pads forward slowly, glancing around in confusion. There were no stars, but yet, they could see perfectly fine, as if it were the light of day illuminating the forest. The feline eventually came across a stream, the water running calmly down the carved out land. Suddenly, they could hear a faint roar. They turn their head upstream. Nothing. Next, turned downstream. Suddenly, they could see a torrent of water rushing up the land, water pounding against the ground as it rushed towards the cat. The feline was quick to bolt away in fright, hearing thunder cracking above its head as it ran, with no clouds in sight. Winds screaming as they crash against and around the trees, causing them to creak at the force. Over all the violent noise, the sound of a multitude of howls echoing is heard in the distance, as they eventually mix together with the storm of noises.”

Setting:
Time: Sunup; the sun is slightly overhead
Season: Early Greenleaf
Weather: slightly cloudy, cool. Will warm up throughout the day.

Sunup Patrols: (other ones will be made by the actual Leaders/Deputies for Sunset Patrol and then on. Unless y'all want me to do them. I'll probably be making it more obvious what time it is if it helps for others to keep on track or something)

ShadowClan: (Deputy is in charge of making patrols after this for now on unless you don't want to for whatever reason. @/NPC @/Mimifan101)
~ Border: Nettlefur (Leader), Tawnypaw*, Needleshine, Ivypelt.
*Task: ThunderClan Border
~ Hunting Cats: Anyone not named above.

ThunderClan: (Deputy is in charge of making patrols after this for now on unless you don't want to for whatever reason. @ScarletSultan)
~ Border: Fallowheart (leader), Lilystep, Blackpaw*, Redcrow.
*Task: @ScarletSultan can decide IC as Fallowheart is the leader for this patrol 0-0
~ Hunting Cats: Anyone not named above.

*Remember that apprentices typically go with their mentors for patrols. So wherever the mentor goes, the apprentice goes. Include them unless other certain circumstances come up

RiverClan and WindClan do not have enough "known" characters to add patrols to them. (No need to make some for these clans unless a meeting comes up or someone really wants to.)

=============
Reports/Situations:
Howlers
~ Will be stirring now. At a temporary camp before moving on to continue towards the lake soon. Have already visited the Tribe of Rushing Water. Could not stay for more than a couple of days due to lack of space or food to go to both groups. Told about the clans by the lake by Teller of Pointed Stones that may be able to help.
~ Some Guards and Omegas will be up at this time, and have been for a while, watching over the rest of the sleeping pack and making sure no predators try to ambush them.
~ Some Hunters and Omegas will be sent out to find food. Already has a small store of food at temp camp but more is needed.
~ Casualties due to dogs attacking, forcing the Howlers to evacuate: (you may mention them if you wish)
(defense = stayed behind to allow packmates to run; killed = ambushed and killed by dogs; succumbed to injuries = able to get away but injuries sustained were too much)
= 1 Delta (Sparrow, F) (succumbed to injuries),
= 3 Guards (Racoon, F) (defense) (Hawk, M) (defense) (Blaze, M) (succumbed to injuries),
= 1 Hunter (Spider, M) (killed),

ThunderClan:

Fallowheart: Leading the Sun-up Patrol to the WindClan border with Lilystep, Blackpaw @SqueakyWarrior, and Redcrow @Zantana

Fallowheart yawned as he padded through the forest towards the WindClan border. He could hear his patrol behind him, but thus far the journey had been mostly quiet. Hollyflight had awoken them early today- he still felt phantom claws pricking his side as his old friend mercilessly prodded him out of bed to lead the patrol. The warming weather did nothing to help him wake himself, either.

He broke the silence that had settled over the forest as the group walked. "Thank StarClan the WindClan border has been quiet recently," he said, pushing himself under an old fallen log. He looked back at his clanmates. "Hollyflight has been pushy lately, getting us all up so early," He yawned again, as if to punctuate his point.

Hollyflight: ThunderClan Camp

Hollyflight sat cleaning her pelt in the shade offered by highrock. As far as she could tell, Owlstar had yet to awaken. She had already sent Fallowheart off with a patrol to the WindClan border, much to the tom's chagrin. Dogstrike, Badgerclaw, and Quickflower were at the ShadowClan border, and should be returning soon, as unlike Fallowheart, all three warriors had been up and prepared to patrol on time. Her whiskers twitched in amusement at the thought of her old friend.

She watched as Thistlefoot padded over to the nursery, no doubt visiting Poppyfall and their kits. Lightningpaw and Harenose waited patiently at the entrance, about to leave on a hunting patrol led by the warrior. She was still unsure of Harenose's loyalties, but since joining the clan he had kept his head down and contributed his fair share, so Hollyflight had no major issues with the cat.

Besides, as the patrol left camp shortly after, Hollyflight couldn't help but worry. The only cats left in the camp were herself, Owlstar, Brindlewind Kestralwish, Poppyfall and her kits, and the elder Cedarfoot. There was only so much three warriors and an elder could do to stop an invading patrol, and it would still be best to have another hunting patrol out to ensure the clan was fed. There would be another at sun-high, and then the evening patrols, but with so many cats consistently waking early and going to sleep after dark, Hollyflight's mind was constantly on trying to stagger patrols to give cats time to rest, while also keeping the clan fed. The new kits were a blessing to the otherwise small clan, numbering only 16, the promise of new apprentices and new warriors and kits after was one of the few things keeping Hollyflight's head on straight. The couldn't afford another leafbare filled with sickness.

She sighed, wrapping her tail around herself. There was no use worrying more than she had to, she supposed. The patrols for the morning had already left, and she would be on both the sun-high patrol and the evening one to let some of the others have a break. She could always send the apprentices out with their mentors for hunting as well, to take the strain off of some of the other warriors. It was better her than Owlstar worrying- she had no dreams of becoming leader, and keeping Owlstar stress-free was conducive to that. Once Poppyfall's kits became apprentices, some of the worry would fall off, she hoped. 3 more productive clan members certainly would take a load off of her mind.

ShadowClan:

Needleshine: On patrol with Nettlefur, Tawnypaw, and Ivypelt

Needleshine padded after Nettlefur as he led the patrol towards the border, enjoying the feeling of her namesake beneath her paws. She felt the cool air against her fur, not cold as it had been in the past moons of new-leaf, but finally bringing the warmth of greenleaf. She eyed her companions. Ivypelt was a new warrior, a few seasons younger than Needleshine, but she showed promise so far. Needleshine was intrigued by her- they hadn't known each other well when Ivypelt was an apprentice, but something about her made Needleshine think they could be good friends. Nettlefur was a more experienced warrior, someone Needleshine had no problem following on patrol, but she did worry about his apprentice.

As they walked, Needleshine couldn't help but wonder what Tawnypaw would do if they were to come across trouble. She knew she'd worked hard to get where she was, despite Dawnfur's open offer for apprenticeship, but she couldn't fathom how she herself would fight a battle without being able to see her clanmates. How would she tell friend from foe in the chaos of battle, let alone be able to tell which of her clanmates needed help? The entire concept made her wary. Generally, Needleshine just avoided the apprentice. Though she strongly believed the apprentice would never be a true warrior, she kept her thoughts to herself. There was no sense in bringing it up and discouraging the she-cat. Ultimately, it would be Shystar and Dawnfur's place to decide what was best for the clan and talk to the young she-cat, one way or another.

Still, her gaze was drawn to the apprentice as they walked. Needleshine did her best to keep her eyes on Nettlefur in front of her, but curiosity did make her wonder how the apprentice could navigate the territory at all.

Dawnfur: ShadowClan camp, Medicine Den

Dawnfur was sorting her stores when she heard Amberbreeze pad into the den. She was glad it was nearly greenleaf- she wanted to have plenty of herbs to keep her brother's mate healthy while she was carrying and caring for their kits. She mewed a greeting and pressed herself against her kithood friend as she entered into the sandy hallow, surrounded by brambles, that made up the ShadowClan medicine den.

Amberbreeze purred back. "Hellow Dawnfur," she mewed

"Amberbreeze," she greeted, "What can I do for you?"

She looked at her with bright, cheerful eyes. "Oh you know, just my daily stop to see if you can tell how many kits I'm having," She flicker her ears hopefully.

Dawnfur chuckled. "You know I'll tell you as soon as I can," she licked her friend's shoulder comfortingly. "It's just a bit early, that's all. You've still got a moon to go- all I can tell you right now is that they're healthy, and there's probably more than one,"

Dawnfur's eyes twinkled with humor. "That is, unless it's just one as big as Scorchfur,"

Amberbreeze swatted her playfully. "Don't tease him! He's going to be a great father. We'd be lucky to have a kit like him," She sighed dreamily and fell onto her side. "Check me anyway?" she begged.

Rolling her eyes, she went about her exam, knowing there would be nothing new to say. She didn't really mind, anyway- she was as excited as the rest of the clan, if not as much as the pair of lovers actually having their first litter. Dawnfur had always loved kits. She remembered helping her mentor kit Tawnypaw before she'd passed a few seasons prior- this would be her first litter delivering on her own.

Besides, if there was any time to be overzealous about new kits, it was now. Leafbare had been hard for all the clans, and many cats had been lost. Amberbreeze's kits were a blessing for ShadowClan. It was even more exciting for Dawnfur and her siblings, given that they'd have kin in the clan. She knew Leapwhisker was excited too- he was the only remaining parent of their group of friends, and he would be the only one to meet his grandkits. Still, as Amberbreeze finally relented and headed back to the nursery, Dawnfur looked up at the open sky above her den. She knew Sharpclaw, Nettlebreeze, and Fernlily were all looking down on them, keeping watch over the new lives about to join them.

Sighing, Dawnfur padded out of her den into the main camp, heading towards the head of the camp, hoping to find Shystar or Quailwing. It would be nice to have a warrior accompany her so she could gather more herbs at once, but she wanted to clear it with one of the clan leaders first. Usually, she'd encourage Tawnypaw to join her and use the excursion as yet another attempt to convince the apprentice onto a safer path, but she had joined the dawn patrol that morning. Instead, she'd have to settle for doing it herself if she couldn't get a warrior to help her.

Howlers:

Shadow of Mountain at Dusk: standing watch outside the temporary camp

Dusk sat as still as he had for most of the night as the sun peeked over the horizon. He had gotten a few full nights of sleep when they stopped at the Tribe of Rushing Water, but aside from that, his eyes had been glued to the horizon most nights. He only called one of the other guards to relieve him when the lack of sleep wore him down to uselessness.

The deaths of his pack members still weighed heavily on him- he took their loss as a personal failure. Three of his guards were dead, defending their fellow cats, but it was the pup, the mother, and the apprentices that weighed on him most heavily. Those were the members of the clan that relied on the guard- relied on him- to keep them safe. They were dead now. He thought of poor Milk and Pine- both so young, and wondered what they would have contributed to the pack if they had been allowed to grow up.

The brush of a pelt against his shook him from his stupor. Sky licked his shoulder comfortingly. Even his firey sister had been subdued since the attack- although he could see in her fury in face every time the dogs were mentioned, could tell in the way she flexed her claws and scratched the ground in her sleep how much she thought about going back and clawing the mange-pelts to shreds. He was even inclined to agree with her, for once, if not for his duty to the pack. Both of their duties. There were so few of them left, and with both of them fully trained, they were invaluable to what was left of the group.

Dusk leaned into his sister for comfort as she led him to her vacated nest to get what rest he could before the group moved again. He saw one of the other guards, Howl, stirring, and knew that the group would be safe in his paws. Sighing, Dusk barely managed to lay down in the nest before his eyes were closed, his sister curled around him, licking his unkempt fur clean while he drifted off.

Shystar sat near his den, sharing tongues with his kithood friend Crowdream(@FrostSol) like he usually did, his ears perking when he spotted the clans medicine cat. He touched noses with his friend before excusing himself, padding to meet the medicine cat in the middle. "Dawnfur(@ScarletSultan)" He lightly touched noses with her as well, as he always did when greeting his clanmates. "How is Amberbreeze?"

He was curious, enjoying the thought of new kits in the clan and the ideal of fresh warriors in due time. His soft, blue gaze flicked to the nursery before returning back to the medicine cat. "Anything I can do for you as well?" He guessed she might have needed to ask something, his head tipped to the side slightly in question.
