Hermes sat down with his friends. There was nothing he could do until he was able to catch Ermine and get a moment alone with him, but for now he would enjoy the other's company and prepare for his lessons that day.

Sirius narrowed his eyes as the ice shards were shot at him, to which the Tundra spread his wings slightly, his own shards of ice forming from the cold energy that swirled through and around his body, sending them to meet with the Banescales, crashing into each other and shattering into hundreds of tiny shards of ice that went flying in every which direction upon impact. Sirius knew he had to keep out of the reach of those mighty talons.

Sirius leapt to the side, feeling the wind brush past him from the Banescales body lurched past him. Though the sound of the others charging to their allies aide made the black Tundra swear beneath his breath. Fighting one would be difficult as is, fighting an entire squad would be a death sentence for Sirius, and that was only if he was lucky. He had no choice, he had to run and to get out of here he needed to cover his tracks. Sirius began to flap his wings, though it wasn't for flight, instead he was causing the cold air to rush in front of him, bringing with it the snow that laid across the ground up, almost as if a small blizzard was beginning to rage in the spot.

Styrax's nose flared as he caught the scent of the same dragons he picked up earlier, this time with more of them. He paused, if only for a moment to consider his choices before he began to follow after the trail, that's what they were suppose to do anyhow.

The breakfast period passed without much trouble. The conversations flowed as the usual and eventually it would be time to go to the infirmary to continue training. The two of them strode in through the door. The camp was swarming with dragons hurrying to go wherever they needed to go. Inside the class, Moraine would be where she usually was as students and healers worked alike to sort through their work.

At first, it didn't seem like the wind affected the ancients as they were strong fliers. Sirius could see in his peripheral smoke of flames wreathing from one of the newer pursuers. They flapped their wings, hot on his tails. Several times, the lead banescale who initiated the fight snapped at his tail in an attempt to drag him back. However, overtime the strength of winds seemed to began to buffer at them, if only slightly.

For a while he trekked, the moon sliding across the sky. Then he realized it. The winds was shifting, though it was odd. The night has been fairly peaceful before while he was patrolling beforehand. There was also a new smell, of smoke and flame in the air. What was it?

Hermes did enjoy his morning conversation with his friends and made his way to the infirmary with them, bidding them farewell when he saw Moraine and made his way over to his mentor, bowing his head to her in greeting. "Good morning, Moraine. I hope you slept well?"

Sirius hated running like this, it made his blood boil, but if he turned to fight more than one of them his blood would stain the snow. The harsh winds didn't affect him, if only because he was the one causing them, using this and the thick cover of the forest, to quickly put as much distance as he possibly could between them.

Styrax stopped, lifting his head to sniff the air, catching the scent of...a fire? He quickened his pace, running as fast and easily over the snow as any Tundra could, being built to traverse the cold and harsh lands of the Southern Icefield.

The elderly imperial looked over to her apprentice and smiled. "Of course. Proper rest is good for work. How about you, how well have you rested last night?" On the table, there were a few papers with words and blank lines labeled, "Worksheet." A quick look over of the sheet could tell him it was practice for the subject discussed the day before.

Styrax would come towards an area with a brewing blizzard, and though the wind combed through his fur with a ferocity, he could smell the source. Amidst the sky he saw four banescales give chase to a cloaked smaller figure he would come to know as Sirius. Though the wind was working against the larger dragons, it was still a close chase and from the maw of one of the banescales, tongues of flames and smoke was coming out. Something needed to be done.

Hermes gave her a small smile before rubbing the back of his head sheepishly. "I slept well...but I have to remember we have a green house and I don't have to forage for herbs...I left the village and ended up getting lost because I haven't really memorized the surrounding area, I was luckily found by a passing patrol...but I did find some herbs that we had been running short of!" He opened his satchel to hand his mentor what he had gathered.

Styrax cursed beneath his breath when he realized the sight that was before him. Without much thinking the half-breed quickly gathered up a ball of snow and ice, packing it down quickly before throwing it at the side of the Banescales head in hopes of breaking their concentration with the sudden impact.

"Ah, how wonderful!" Moraine would trill, smiling down on Hermes. For a second, she turned them over meticulously in her claws before moving to hand them back, "It's best you keep them for yourself though. Unless you would like to donate them towards this building it is best you talk to Mura. She keeps stalk of much of our herbs, if not Ragweed."

Perhaps it was the buffering winds. Whatever it was, the snowball dissipated before it could cross the distance towards the targeted ancient's head. The ember grew from the mouth, but in the same fashion, it seemed like the sheer force was keeping the flames from scorching the tip of Sirius' tail.

Hermes felt proud to hear his Mentor's excited trill, nodding his head as he replaced his herbs in his satchel. "I'm ready to start today's lesson!" He said excitedly.

Styrax muttered colorful swears beneath his breath before darting along the snow under the group flying above, grateful that the sheer cold wind that Sirius had created was keeping him from being lit aflame, but even Sirius's special magic couldn't hold out forever. "Get down here you dumb lizard!" Styrax hissed, they needed to get on the ground, this was where Styrax's combat skills were the best. It was by some luck, regardless if Sirius actually heard him, that the black tundra landed, perhaps hoping to lose them in the trees, when Styrax grabbed him. "Come on!"

"Very well." Moraine would stand up, "Let us head towards the greenhouse to see how your plants are faring." As per usual, they would lead Hermes towards the greenhouse with no inconveniences. Arriving there, he could see that the garden was cleaned up from the event prior. "Remember to record how your plants are doing!" Moraine would call out to Hermes before parting for a brief stroll around the area.

There was a series of shrieks as their attention was diverged on the both of them. They turned briefly, before beginning to dive for the ground, determined not to lose their targets to the cover. The flames on one of the banescales flared to life now that they were no longer facing the wind, lighting up a patch in the dark. They surged forward.

"I will!" He called back with a nod of his head. The young Tundra turned his attention to the task at hand, heading inside to document the care of his plants.

Sirius and Styrax hurried along the ground. This was one of the worse possible outcomes that could have happened to the two Tundra's. Styrax wasn't in his clans territory and didn't want to risk one of those jerks seeing one of the secret tunnels, so instead they dove deeper into the growing underbrush. If they wanted to pursue they were going to have to sacrifice flight.

As Hermes went about his task, he would see the slight changes to his plants. They were not very noticeable, but compared to a few days ago, it was still something. If Hermes was to head up towards the surface greenhouse from where he would have tended to his dim thriving plant, he would have noticed a familiar figure carefully tending to something. The nocturne’s back was turned, but Hermes would recognize the figure well enough.

Sacrifice flight they did. However, there was a volley of heat and light that nearly singed the fur off of their tails as the flame wielding ancient finally breathed flame. The surrounding plants thawed and roasted, though the bits of flames that caught on snuffed out due to melted ice.

Despite the close call, it was clear that the ncients were not built for running. The crawled forth as fast they could, two wings hitting the ground as makeshift arms. Though they seemed to barrel through smaller plants like nothing, they were beginning to lose the more well suited dragons.
