-Flashback (About a week ago)-
Larkspur
Location: On an island in the Sea of a Thousand Currents
Interactions: Mangrove and Helios
He, Helios, and Mangrove were the only ones remaining. They were all sitting around a fire, on an island in the middle of the Sea of a Thousand Currents. The Banescale stood up. "I'm going to find us food. I'll be back." The Banescale extended his wings outward, about to take off.
"Stay safe Helios. Make sure to signal it's you as you approach." Mangrove nodded as she spoke. She curled up around her eggs and set her head on the ground as Helios took off. Larkspur yawned, it was getting late, but he needed to stay alert. Who knew when a zombie might come shambling out of the sea. He stared up at the night sky, but unfortunately he couldn't see the stars. It was nearly pitch black, and cloudy. Probably an incoming rainstorm.
We're almost there. Just a week or so of flying, and we'll be there. He then closed his eyes, just for a moment.
BAM
Startled, he woke up, and felt the strong wind and the pouring rain. Mangrove had also woke up, and she was also panicking. "A storm?! Where did that come from?!" she exclaimed. Her wings were curled around all three of the eggs, to protect them. There weren't any caves to hide in, and nowhere to run to in the storm. Running over, Larkspur spread his wings around Mangrove and the eggs, using himself as a shield. Helios hadn’t returned yet. Larkspur was worried for their friend, but right now he just focused on protecting Mangrove.
About 5 hours later, the storm had finally subsided. “We should wait for Helios.” Larkspur said after a few minutes. Standing up, he looked out in the direction the Banescale had flown off. “If he doesn’t get here in two days, we’ll have to go on without him."
Helios
Location: Camp RuneRelic (Barracks and Mess Hall)
Interactions: None (open)
Helios woke up.
Another WONDERFUL day in paradise. He thought sarcastically. Standing up, he went to go to the mess hall. As he walked, he tried to take in his surroundings. Even though he had been here a few days already, he still wasn't quite used to the layout yet. Although it was better to be confused than to be food. He still didn't have a job, and he was still thinking about which job would be the best.
He got his food and sat down in a more empty area of the mess hall. Which wasn't saying much, since everyone was here. He ate slowly, trying to 'enjoy' this food as much as possible. The food here wasn't the best, but he'd take what he could get.
It was strange to be back 'home'. The last time he'd been there besides on any one of their journeys here was when he left. He'd stormed out, after having an argument with his parents, and promised he never return. Granted, he did once or twice, but never did he see his parents again.
They could be dead for all I care.
