Deathwhisper | Dusk Clan | Willowstar

Shame. Suddenly the flames looked more like a blessing then danger and for a moment he just wanted to perish within the dancing flames that were inviting him in. Nothing the other said affected him, not when he knew he knew he wasn't playing hero. He wasn't trying to look brave, he was just trying to help his clan. But her last words? If Willowstar is truly so dissapointed in him, then there shouldn't even be a problem if he dies. She'd find a new deputy that would be better for Dusk Clan ...

He dissapointed his parents, his mentor, and now his leader. Never done any good. He didn't say anything as they left, not wanting to argue back anymore. It took all his will to not throw himself into the blaze but only because the deputy didn't want to add to the regret the Dusk Clan leader must be feeling to choose him as deputy.

That would be too easy on himself.

Sighing, he didn't think as he limped towards either his shelter or grave. Not even bothering with giving his injured side some relief, it felt like a thorn was stabbing through his entire arm every time his right forearm landed for a brief moment on the ground before leaping off again. The pain kept him going. He didn't wince when the searing fire burned little bits of the slick dark pelt of his. The deputy raced through the grounds, and for a moment had an urge to toss behind the aching thoughts of his and just admire how beautiful the destruction can be.

But before anything else, he was at the shore. The heat was unbearable, and when he jumped into the freezing water it felt like this enormous burden was lifted off him. Soon though he was swimming towards the nearest small mini patch of land that was barely above water, still wheezing a little and dipping underwater every now and then. Deathwhisper barely made it as he dragged his body onto the shore, coughing up the water he got in his lungs.

When he finally felt strong enough to walk again, the exhausted cat moved into the center of the island and leaned tiredly against a small shrub that grew nearby. There he laid, watching his home be destroyed by the fiendish fire. He wanted to tell himself that he tried, but it doesn't even matter does it. Who knows whats happening with his leader and apprentice, the thought making his heart drop to the bitter bottom of the lake. His home's gone, the place he's been trying to defend for so long. Any respect he may have build for himself gone.

Most of all a piece of himself must have died in the fire.

Amber | None | Crystalgleam

Hot, her head felt so hot. The entire land felt hot. Everything was burning in and out of her. She gasped and blinked open her eye in shock as cooling water contrasted heavily against the previous heat and making the passed out cat suddenly awake with shock. Who the- What- Oh right, tiring journey, near death… Wait, is she in the afterlife? Blinking around, she soon realize that she was still on that same route she’s been on the whole time. But then immediately she realize there was someone besides her. Scrambling to try and get on her feet only to fall again from the dislocation of her left back paw. Panicing, she was also pretty sure that the other was the one who woke up her which means the larger grey cat most likely isn’t trying to harm her … Good. “I am so sorry for passing out here, if its your territory or something! I was just passing by looking for some sort of group of cats that calls themselves a clan?” She was about to say something else when Amber suddenly sniffed the air.

“Wait, is that a fire?” There was fear in her eyes as she spoke, her voice never louder than a audible whisper. This is why she is terrible at being alone...

Swallowtail | Skyclan | Open (sorta)

Time ticked on, slipping away from her into the void like pebbles sliding off a mountainside, never to be seen again. She didn't how long it was that she stayed there, paws tucked against her stomach, crouched and curled like a kit on the stone.
She shouldn't stay here. She should go back to her Clan- she should hunt, or patrol, or do something to help them. She should not keeping swallowing self-pity, or it would suffocate her.
But she didn't move.
For now... For now she would be selfish. For now, she didn't know how to be anything else. For now...she couldn't summon enough energy to try.
And if she went back... She'd have to face Oakshadow, and the thought sparked a reaction- a shudder ran through her and she coiled tighter.
She hadn't even been the one to uncover the truth. Someone else found out. Someone else found out before she did.

Swallowtail shut down her thoughts and wrapped her tail around her body.
Don't be pathetic.
She recoiled at the thought that hissed in her ear, but it had some truth. She'd have to face Oakshadow eventually, and...better sooner than later.
So she scooped up the bigger pieces of her being and pushed them together for this act. She would not let him see her broken.
Fury glowed white-hot in her at the thought.
He was not allowed to see what he had done to her. He was not allowed to know he'd meant enough to her to shatter her.
Swallowtail gathered her paws under her and pushed her body upward, staggering slightly, but she kept her balance. She was still here. She was still here. Pain unexpectedly stabbed at her side and she blinked, looking down at the long slice streaking red through her brown fur. Strands of cobwebs trailed dismally from it, and she realized with a dull start that she must have reopened it.
Mechanically, she bent and drew her tongue across the wound once, twice, three times. She was alright. She would be alright.
It would all be alright.
Liar.
Swallowtail cleaned her side slowly and then walked out of the crack in the rocks in which she had taken shelter from her heartache, and then she began to make her way down the mountainside. She paid much more attention to where she placed her paws than she usually would, pressing her pads against smooth stone, dully avoiding stepping into puddles or crevices.
She would be alright.

Jasminepaw | SkyClan | Twigstar & Stormwind

Oh, this was too much.
"You both didn't notice that Crystalgleam didn't come home?" she meowed dangerously, eyes starting to flash. "You both completely missed that she's gone?"
Her violet eyes flicked between them, tail lashing. "Well, then you're both mousebrains."
She hissed once, just to make her feelings clear, fur fluffing up, and her eyes flashed to Swallowtail's sleek brown form shooting out of camp.
"Do whatever you want, Stormwind," she snapped, turning away and striding across the clearing, tail held high. "I'm going herb-hunting."
Tomcats.
The worst of it was that they were both too sweet and goodhearted and well-meaning for her to be properly annoyed with them.
Ugh.

Rustfur | DawnClan | Dustrunner & Dogeye

Rustfur paused and looked up, opening his mouth to scent the air for hints of Dogeye- or Dogstar's?- warning of a fire.
Fire. The bane of all Clans.
He frowned, pelt tingling, and lit with the need to discover where this terrible danger was. And if it was anywhere close to his home.
Rustfur caught Dogeye's apologetic look thrown briefly his way and shot him a quick, slight smile. Old habits die hard, huh?
He bounded to the entrance, eager to be off, and looked over his shoulder to check if Dustrunner was following.
"Want to go investigate?" he asked her, ears rising to attention as excitement, unease, and adrenaline started to coil in his gut. His fur began to rise, his paws itching to be off.
Fire, which he'd only seen a few times with Twolegs in small numbers, gathering around it to roast sticky white fresh-kill on sticks. Which Rustfur couldn't see the point in, but trying to figure out Twolegs made his head hurt.
Well, however large the fire, it needed to be kept away from camp.

Crystalgleam | Sky Clan | Amber

Waiting for the she-cat to wake up, Crystal had already noticed that there was a fire in Duskclan camp. What in the Spirits happen? The weather had changed in seconds, but whatever she didn't had the time to think about it she hoped that Duskclan made in out in time. She needed to go check on them later, but first...

The she-cat finally woke up and before she could continuing her speech Crystal replied "Ya ya ya you can't tell me all of this later, we have to go to the mountains before the fire reaches here. "she said her tone cold, but as the she-cat fell down she realized that twisted paw. She had to put it in place, or they couldn't walk. "Hold on" she said running over to a large tree were she broke a twig, she handed it over to the ginger she-cat.

"Bite down i have to relocate that bone, it's gonna hurt a bit, but if you ever want to walk probably again you have to go through, besides you don't have any other choices" she said pointing at the raging fire slowly creeping.

She put her paws on the injured leg and with a quick but hard pull and a lout knack sound, she put the bone pack into her place. With that she picked up the sparrow she had caught and leaned her body on the loner. "Come , over there is a small cave, we should be safe there" she said pointing behind some rocks.

Adderpaw | Dusk Clan | Deathwhisper, Willowstar

What was Willowstar taking about, just seconds ago she wanted to do the exact same thing as Deathwhisper, this whole conversation reminds him of kits that don't want to share their toy. He did understand Deathwhisper in a way, but if the tom could still go and there are cats who can help him out then there is no way he should just give up."Both just shut up and GO".

For a moment he stood at his mentor side should he go with Willowstar? He wanted to help Deathwhisper but before he could make a choice the tom stood up and left for his destination. Adderpaw wanted to go after him but was cut of by the fire putting himself before him, he had no choice but follow Willowstar now.

"Save yourself Deathwhisper , i swear i come back for you later"he yelled behind him, but he could only see the shadow of his mentor now. He then returned to Willowstar, catching up to her he looked angrily. "What was that just now? Seconds ago you were about to do the same thing as him and now you're disappointed? I could say the same thing to my leader. I know that in the heat of the moment you can say things you don't mean ,but both of you acted like kits.* he finished his words and avoided Willowstars gaze instead he reached up to Rabbitpaw and Ruepaw.

"Ok everyone is here, show us the way Rabbitpaw".

Rabbitpaw | Dawn Clan | Adderpaw

Rabbitpaw nodded and put herself in front of the clan. "Ok everyone follow me" she yelled and headed off. They had to cross the small river between the camp and the cleric. Adderpaw took some kits to help cross the water and soon they passed the cleric aswell, crossing one last river before reaching the territory of Dawnclan. Crossing the plains, you could soon see the weird construction of the twolegs that stood tall like some mountain peaks, but with weird carvings inside of them.

Rabbitpaw reached the place first and halted "Here, we are far away from the fire, i don't believe it can cross the river. You can rest here just don't try jumping over these rocks some of them are lose. I can go warn Dawnclan of what happen"she said

Cidermoon | Dawnclan | Gathering, Lionpaw, Greypaw

Cidermoon had jumped when the thunder hit, her fur raising up as she rose to her paws. She was still jumpy about all the things Mu had put them through yesterday. Was this something caused by that demon as well? It didn't...seem like it, but the smell of burning was getting stronger. Fire... she glanced towards Dogeye and Rustfur, waiting for them to give a signal or something.

Dogeye was starting to give out orders, much like the leader was used to when he was a deputy. The medicine cat's ears perked as she limped her way over towards the two toms.

"I'm pretty sure that I don't need to say this, but I'm gonna anyways. Please don't send anyone that is still wounded from the battle...For their safety and for the sanity of your medicine cat." her nose wrinkled a little, and she focused over towards her apprentices before moving over to them. "Let's go gather up our herbs, just in case we need to evacuate when the scouting patrol comes back... or if we need to move out to help other clans."

Briarleaf | Skyclan | Stormwind

Briarleaf had kind of just been standing there, a bit zoned out. Who could blame him, yesterday was a badger to deal with. The male frowned as he just listened to most of the cats and was preparing to go out hunting when he noticed a she-cat...ah... Swallowtail! Run out of the camp.

His eyes widened for a moment before he focused over towards Twigstar, Stormwind, and Jasminepaw. He knew there was quite the commotion yesterday... and so when he moved up towards them to find out what was wrong... the question of should someone go after Swallowtail...the tom perked up a bit.

"A.h... Stormwind, I can go after if you'd like." he flicked his ear and then offered an unsure smile. "It wouldn't be too much fur off my back in the slightest!" and then he backed up a bit... preparing to do just that.

Willowstar looked down at the apprentice. "It seemed like only harsh words would actually make him move." she meowed. She stared at the ground."So I lied to him in order to make him leave the camp."

Lionpaw|dawnclan|Cidermoon

"Is there anywhere we can put them, in case the fire gets to our part of the forest?" he asked, referring to the herbs. "I mean, if we lose our herbs AND duskclan loses their herbs, that would be really bad..." he meows.

His tail flicks as he hears a shuffling noise behind the medicine den wall, she goes to investigate. As he looks around, he sees, and smells, that nothing is there. The shuffling has stopped. But an odd feeling still lingered as he padded back to the medicine den.

I'm so hungry... Where is mom? I tripped over a root. Owww... I whimpered a bit, sniffing for food. A warm scent filled my nose. prey?! I sighed with joy and began to run towards the scent of fresh kill, only to see a group of cats.

A clan! Oh... I can't get prey on them... Turning my head away, I listened as my stomach growled. Then I heard a rustle where I had stepped and realized I could have been heard.Trembling with fear, I ran.

Twigstar || Skyclan || Stormwind, Jasmimepaw, Oakshadow, Poppythorn and Ashwing

Twigstar watched in surprise as Swallowtail rushed by, leaving them all confused. When Jasminepaw huffed huffed, what felt like ants beginning to crawl up his limbs. He sighed as the apprentice stormed out, turning to regard his deputt with a cropked smile. "Don't let this get to you too much, Stormwind. She must have slipped away as you were all going back. You know Crystalgleam - she doesn't listen to orders, doesn't tell anyone what she's doing in advance-" And doesn't seem to care what I or anyone will feel about her gallivantinf whereever she so pleases, Twigstar thinks before quickly shaking the thought away. No, being bitter about it was not going to help them. He would have to settle this with her when she came back.

"It's not your fault. Crystalgleam is a very... independent cat. I will speak with her later." So many things already happening, and the sun was barely half way up the sky. Starclan, guide me.

He turned his gaze to Briarleaf as he approached with his offer, visibly relaxing as he nodded. "Yes, please. Thank you, Briarleaf. See to it you are both safe."

The tom nodded to Stormwind. "Go with Briarleaf. I'm afraid we will have to discuss last night's events later. I'm going to take a patrol and retrieve Crystalgleam from Duskclan." And my apprentices, should I be correct in believing they'd gone there. And with them, I always am.

Dipping his head to the both of them, Twigstar left for the warriors den, catching Oakshadow on the way. "Oakshadow, you'll be coming with me today. We're going to Duskclan, it seems Crystalgleam's on a personal mission there that she didn't bother to tell anyone else about." He said with a chuckle, gesturing with his tail to the camp entrance. I'll be with you in a moment.

Without waiting for a response, Twigstar made his way for the den housing the two Duskclan medicine cats, popping his head in to call for them. "Apologies if I've interrupted something, but Ashwing, I'm just about to be on my way for your Clan. I'd be happy to escort you there."

Dustrunner || Dawnclan || Rustfur

Dustrunner shot up at the mention of a fire. She bristled a little in worry, shooting an apologetic glance at Lynxfang and excusing herself before dashing of to meet Rustfur where he waited by the camp entrance.

Despite her nerves buzzing, something else was also sparking her excitement. I'll explore how morbid that is later. "You know it!" She chirped and slipped out ahead of him, trotting a little ways away from the mouth to look back at her companion. She shot him a small, mischieveous smile.

"I'll race ya!"

Dustrunner || Dawnclan || Rustfur

Lynxfang | Dawn Clan | Dustrunner, Dogeye

She watched the other leave, wanting to go herself but unsure of whether or not she should. Only smiling back when her former apprentice dashed away, she wanted to say something but honestly right now she didn’t want to mew a word. Lynxfang felt old all of a sudden, just worn and tired. Shaking the feeling off with a soft sigh, she turned to face their new leader again, “Dogsta-, I apologize. I mean Dogeye, would you prefer for me to go with them or to wait here and guard camp?” Her voice normally was loud at the times she spoke, but it was instead duller and quieter now. The fire made fear shake in her soul, there’s already enough death already; is there really a need for more?

Amber | None | Crystalgleam

There was still fear in her eyes, but the small cat nodded and didn’t protest. Taking the twig for granted, she bit hard but didn’t make a noise when she heard the disturbing sound of his paw being pushed back to where it belongs. It wasn’t that it didn’t hurt, it just wasn’t her first time nor second having to do so among other countless things, and also she really just is too tired to utter any indications of pain besides a furrow of her brows.

“Thanks…” Amber whispered. Normally she wouldn’t trust so easily but honestly, it was certain death if the other didn’t save her and if she’s going to kill her Amber was already prepared for that. Besides, the grey cat was right; she didn’t have any other options. From the few times she’d seen a fire, they were like destructive beasts that no one can defeat. Even those two-legs sometimes perish within the seemly beautiful blaze that hides dark dangers.

Standing up shakily, she tried the previously dislocated paw again and although it was painful she can walk enough now. Letting the other support her, she still tried to keep as much weight off as she can and nodded again. Willingly giving the other control to lead her, her head still felt heated and things blurring in and out of focus here and there.

Jasminepaw | SkyClan | Twigstar & Stormwind

Jasminepaw padded out of camp, shaking her fur, and... And then felt a sliver of guilt puncture her irritation. She glanced over her shoulder, grimacing, and paused as her eyes rested on Twigstar and Stormwind.
That wasn't nice.
But for StarClan's sake, did they think leaving their medicine cat behind in a sort-of enemy camp was alright? They better not.
Sighing, Jasminepaw turned and plodded through the entrance, thinking over their conversation and wincing at her words. She probably could have gotten her point across without yelling at them. Yeesh.
She stopped. Sighed. Peeked over her shoulder again.
Then turned and ran back, buried her head under Twigstar's chin, and meowed, "Alright, I'm sorry, you're not a mousebrain or irresponsible, but sometimes you- Well, you-" She sighed and pulled back, waving her tail. "I've already made my feelings clear, I don't need to again."
She turned to Stormwind and dipped her head in apology. "You're not a mousebrain either. Usually. I mean-" She sighed again and twitched her tail. "Now I'm going herb-hunting."
Conscience alleviated slightly, she turned and bounded away before she said something stupid.
This is what she had meant. They were too annoyingly good for her to be mean to them or mad at them for long, even when they sort of deserved it.

She shook her pelt and strode along, sniffing in crevices of rock, and vaguely decided it was better than having an awful leader and deputy who just didn't care, as opposed to being forgetful.
As Jasminepaw got further into the rocks, scanning the mountain for any sign of plantlife, she caught Swallowtail's scent lingering in the wind and on the earth. She raised her head, a frown creasing her brow.
There was something very off about the way Swallowtail raced from camp. Of course, she always 'raced' everywhere, because she was one of those cats who found it impossible to sit still. But there was...almost an urgency to her pace.
Jasminepaw's frown deepened.
If it was anything threatening to the Clan as a whole, Swallowtail would have sounded the alarm, she was sure. So...
Could she have found out about Oakshadow and Poppythorn?
Personally, Jasminepaw had never seen what Swallowtail saw in the tom. He gave her a weird feeling. Plus, he ate poop.
Knowing Stormwind and Briarleaf would soon be after Swallowtail, Jasminepaw returned to picking comfrey, mind whirring with a new topic.
Why did so many cats pursue love? It just looked like it hurt. A lot. Well, romantic love, anyway.
It cost Poppythorn her position, her Clan's respect, and then her kit. She'd wrecked her life for...what? To be 'loved' for a few moons before it was all over?
That didn't seem worth it.
Of course, Jasminepaw conceded. I've never been in love, so maybe it truly is worth all this.
And her thoughts turned to Twigstar and Mudclaw, and the way they looked at one another, and Jasminepaw felt more confused than ever.
Maybe love was particularly volatile, so when it did work...it was fantastic. But when it didn't, it was devastating for everyone involved.
The apprentice frowned again, picking up the thin stems of her herbs, and set off for some new ones.
Poppythorn had been both medicine cat and mate.
Does she regret either?

Rustfur | DawnClan | Dustrunner

As soon as Dustrunner gave him that look, he knew what was coming, and his muscles reacted before he could properly think about it.
He shot past her almost before she finished speaking, calling over his shoulder, "Hundredth time's the charm, you think?"
He was referring to all the times he'd ever raced Dustrunner. And she'd beaten him. By a mile.
He chuckled and ducked under a branch, urging his paws to carry him farther and further, though he scented the air for smoke from time to time and generally steered himself in that direction. There was, after all, a purpose to this patrol aside from finally beating Dustrunner at her favorite thing.
But hey, he had a head-start this time, and he tossed a look over his shoulder to search for her sandy form, probably rocketing towards him and absolutely demolishing any hope he had of winning this.
Still, there was a familiarity to this that made the tension leave his shoulders and a smile wind its way onto his face.

Crystalgleam | Sky Clan | Amber

Crystal dragged the ginger she cat through the stones into a crevice, she helped her put her injured paw down and handed her the sparrow over. With enough time she could race back to get the water drained moss and back to the small cave. "That should do, i doubt the fire reaches here. You can eat the sparrow and drink, you seems like you haven't had food for days."

She sat down looking around to cave, if she could spot something useful to treat her but nothing."I wish i could give you some poppy seeds for the pain, but my storage is back at home and with that lib we can no way go through the mountains at least not without help."she licked her face before continuing,

"You were talking about clans before, well there are 3 around here one is currently on fire i see. I come from one, it's deep in the mountains and i should really return. I did tell one of the warriors i would be back, but looking at how that cat seemed to have a headache before leaving he probably forgot." she said standing up again and going near the entrance.

"If you don't mind, i go back to my clan to seek some help for you, meanwhile you can eat, drink and rest up here. I try to hurry, oh by the way my name is Crystalgleam"she said waiting for the she-cats answer.

Greypaw|DawnClan|Cidermoon

Greypaw must have gotten the best nights sleep of all the cats in the clan. She was left behind to run the medicine cat den, but since there were barely any cats that needed seeing to, Greypaw had decided she could turn in early. Even though she knew she would have to eventually, she was still sad that she had to wake up. It sounded like there was a clan gathering, so getting her fluffy butt out of her nest was the best idea right now.

Greypaw sleepily followed Cidermoon and Lionpaw to the clan gathering, but as soon as she took a seat, she leaned her head against Cidermoon's shoulder and instantly fell back asleep. The sudden crash of thunder in the distance shocked her awake instantly, though. Her eyes snapped open and she jumped high into the air, practically screaming; “DON'T HURT ME!!!” She looked around, realizing whatever had caused the noise was no threat and lowered her head, embarrassed.

“Uhh, yeah, that sounds good...I'vpracticingctising putting names to herbs, I can see if it's paying off,” Greypaw said, hoping to shift the conversation to medicine cat matters and away from her little outburst.
Stormwind|SkyClan|Twigstar, Briarleaf, Swallowtail

Stormwind nodded to Twigstar, flicking his tail at Briarleaf to follow as he headed towards the camp entrance. “Let's find Swallowtail quickly, after last night it can't be good for her to be out there all alone.” Stormwind lifted his head up, drinking in the air to catch Swallowtail's scent. He took off, trotting along the foot of the rocky mountainsides as he followed the trail.

Eventually, Stormwind spotted a cat making their way down the mountainside, and a big smile appeared on his face when he got close enough to make out that it was Swallowtail. He dashed over to her, scrambling up the mountainside to meet her. “There you are! I'm so glad we found you, you took off without a word to anyone! You had me worried...” It took a while for Stormwind to think about what he said, quickly correcting it; “You had us worried.”

Stormwind found himself staring at Swallowtail for a while, just so relieved at the sight of her after disappearing like that, but after a while, his eyes were drawn to her red-stained side. “Oh, StarClan, you're bleeding! Here, let me help you back to camp! Twigstar shouldn't take long getting Crystalgleam back...” Stormwind stood at Swallowtail's side, leaning close to offer his shoulder for support.
