"Never," Adderfang answered, before Windpaw had a chance to. "You're her brother," he laughed, "shouldn't you know this already?" He shook his head, playfully flicking Elmpaw's shoulder with his tail before turning back to Windpaw. "Ready to head back?"

Sharppaw grunted as Echowisdom heaved him away. He kept his distance now, after clambering back to his paws as quickly as he could. He hissed, ears drawn back, and began circling, just out of easy strike-range.

Longclaw yelped, seeing the move coming too late. Duckpaw slammed into his side and he lost his grip on her. No claws or fangs, no broken skin, just the blunt hurt that promised a bruise later. Longclaw was momentarily glad he had no pride to hurt as well.
He chuckled as he rolled away. Leaped back up onto his paws. Duckpaw was quick, he had to give her that. He crouched low, muscles tensed, and waited for her next move.

Willowstream pressed her advantage. Clearstone hissed, crouched, and she lashed out again. But Clearstone hadn't made a move against her yet, and that made her wary. Something was coming - but, if she was lucky, if she could get in a few more well-placed hits, she could end this before Clearstone could retaliate.

Elmpaw smiled at Adderfang before grabbing the bundle of herbs he had collected,

Windpaw nodded, watching the small interaction between the two cats. At least they got along. She walked over to Elmpaw and grabbed a small amount of the herbs in her mouth gently.
" Here, I'll help you carry them back to camp" She says through her full mouth, returning to Adderfang's side.

Echowisdom watched Sharppaw, mimicking his movements before darting out and swiping at him, feeling her paw brush by his side as she moved back out of his reach and into the circle.

Horizon oak sat in the middle of the clearing, scowling at a wasp that kept trying to sting her. "Fly away, ya' winged demon!" She yelped hissing at clawing at the bug. As it flew away she couldn't help but wonder: Why is a bug out this time around? It's not leaf bare, but it's far to cold for them. she heard something scuttle through the grass nearby. "Who goes there!" She howls only to find when she parts the branches to a nearby bush only to find, a fluffy giant bunny. She swiftly pined it to the ground and bit it's neck, she waited until it stopped struggling, then carried it back to camp.

Duckpaw struggled to stay on her paws after Longclaw rolled away, both because of her position, which had been trying to maximize her downwards force, and because she was a bit dizzy. He'd let go of her tail though, a sure sign that he'd felt some sort of shock. When she was fully standing again, she found him staring at her. She knew that he couldn't have recovered more than a few moments before her, but it still bothered her that he was waiting. Waiting for my next move? Or waiting for me to get back into position again, trying to "go easy on the apprentice"? She glared at him, and then ran towards him. Not a fancy leap, just a few quick steps towards him to close the distance and start the fighting again.

Snailwhisker tried to keep track of all three fights, and had been mostly succeeding. All the cats seemed focused on their single opponent. It's good not to be distracted, but this is team fighting. Echowisdom and Longclaw could have teamed up against one of the apprentices and might have brought them down quickly, ending the fight. Or Sharppaw could have dashed over to Duckpaw or Willowstream to try a few hits before Echowisdom reacted to that and got involved. Or- His attention suddenly turned to a flash of movement on the other side of the clearing.

Clearstone lunged for Willowstream, paws out. She saw that Willowstream was more than ready to react, and certainly would, so the action was mostly just to move the fight to a more open space.

"All right," Adderfang said once the two apprentices had gathered up everything that Elmpaw had collected. "Time to be heading back, then." He gently nudged Windpaw, then Elmpaw, with his shoulders as he passed them, beginning the trek back to camp.

Echowisdom's paw hit his side, but she darted back more quickly than Sharppaw could respond. The element of surprise was gone now, just one against another. Or, did it have to be? Sharppaw yowled, quick and sudden and loud. He feigned to the left, then ducked away, darting right, away from Echowisdom completely.

Willowstream ducked away, hissing to herself as Clearstone maneuvered to more open ground. But then, as she was turning, trying to square herself off against her opponent again, a ginger blur barreled into the battle.

Sharppaw hissed, lunging for Clearstone. Echowisdom wouldn't be shocked by the turn of events for long, but he was sure he could get a few good hits in.

Duckpaw closed the distance, and Longclaw danced away again, keeping out of range as best he could. Then, an idea hit. Would it work? He wasn't sure - but only one way to find out. He crouched down, tail flicking anxiously out behind him, and grinned at the apprentice. He just had to wait for an opening, wait for her to leap... Then again, maybe she wouldn't. Well, battle was fluid - he'd just have to react to whatever Duckpaw came up with.
