Challenge #2

The traditional dish for my home region is rössypottu (Wikipedia), which is a stew with potatoes, meat, and the "rössy" which is dumplings made with rye flour and blood. Remnant from the days when food wasn't as plentiful as it is now, so you had to make every little bit count. Not exactly my favourite thing to eat, the texture and taste are... very much bleh. I'd rather recommend you have some Karelian stew or sautéed reindeer for dinner instead, maybe bread cheese for dessert.

Challenge 2 -

I don't think my area really has any regional food? Except maybe hamburgers XD But there is an orchard nearby! Fun to visit at harvest time, I'd recommend that if anyone has an opportunity and hasn't tried it

Challenge 2

We have so many local foods! I'm in Maine and live in the middle of wild blueberry fields that are being harvested right now. We stock up and fill the freezer. My son is 15 and working 7 days a week on a harvester, he's doing awesome for his first job ever! Our house is becoming where blueberry leaves go to die, everytime he comes through, I can't keep up, lol. Oh and the Lobster might be a good one too. ;) I once had to process 25 lobsters because the hubby brought home a gift he received from Lobstermen buddies. I haven't touched Lobster since!

PS We have a running list of the critters he finds in the blueberry bins, so far we're at a multitude of garter snakes, a few frogs and 1 mole.

Challenge 2:

There are quite a few foods that are associated with cuisine in my region, but one food i'd like to go into detail is Hainanese Chicken Rice. It's as simple as it sounds. It contains chicken and rice aswell as usually having cucumbers (and sometimes chilli) on the side. Despite sounding bland, it tastes very good. I would recommend. Thumbs up.
