Day 2:
Everyone is startled out of their contemplations by an abrupt, splash-filled surfacing of a creature in the water. As your head swivels around toward the noise, you see a spiral dragon swimming up from the deep part of the bay up to the beach. Once she gets out of the waves to greet your two hosts warmly, you notice with awe that her eyes are still swirling with water. After a moment of talk, the three dragons make their way back to you.
The spiral looks you and the others over curiously. "So these are the adventurers we heard of, hmm? Well, let's see who's going along with!" Twisting idly in the sand, she smiles. "I'm Teyris, and I'll be going along to help keep my friends out of trouble. Those of you going, step forward!"
Having made your decision, you step up with several others. As if they knew how many volunteers there would be, the three dragons began handing out amulets to any who were not able to spend a lot of time underwater without help.
"These will help you breathe underwater. The glimpses we've had indicate there's going to be a lot of time spent wet." Pungi grinned at the startled laughs that drew from some. "Don't worry, I promise our amulet maker is the best. You'll be fine."
Seneschal steps forward. "The tome that was found by one of our new companions," he nods respectfully to you, "indicates that we need to follow a specific current. Luckily Teyris has a very good idea which one the clues indicate. So if you'll all put on your amulets and follow us?"
Gulping nervously, you prepare yourself and follow the three guides into the water. With only a few initial, minor mishaps the group gets into a rhythm and manages to keep close behind the spiral. When the current is reached, you brace yourself and let it pull you in.
A wild, racing ride later in which you're not sure which way is up, you find yourself surfacing with the others - some of them sputtering wildly, never having been on a ride anything like that on land - in a calm pool. You're confused for a moment, as the current had led the group deep into the ocean, but then you realize it must be an underwater cavern.
As everyone starts pulling themselves up and out of the pool onto a polished rock floor, you look around curiously. The cavern walls are strangely smooth... not just water-worn, but as if this chamber had been carved by hands instead of the waves. Pictures on the walls are illuminated somehow, and you're not sure where the light is coming from. Several alcoves are dug into the rock in one area, but they're too far from where you are at the moment to make out what might be in them. In addition, there is a large stone object that looks as if it could be some sort of crypt or altar.
While you stretch and catch your breath, what would you like to do?
...take a look at the pictures on the walls and perhaps figure out where the light is coming from?
...figure out what is in the alcoves?
...examine the stone object?
...swim around the edges of the pool before you get out to see if you can find anything in the water?
