Another Wavecrest Saturnalia gone by. As wonderful as the celebration had been for the clan, there is no doubt a strange emptiness about it. Every Water clan feels the absence of the Tidelord in their hearts, which pangs even harder during their namesake festival.
This is the cold truth that Echturna (Echo) knows well, being an Undertide raised in the hidden depths. He is too young to fully comprehend the mourning of his ancestors, but regardless, the loss is palpable. His forefathers believed themselves forsaken by the Water god, but coming back to find no trace of him left many shocked and confused. Worse still, it meant that reconciliation with the Tidelord would not happen for a long while. And perhaps the years of silence would continue forward. Earthshaker made a brief appearance and gave a message to his Obelisks, in recent time. He simply didn't understand why Tidelord couldn't do the same.
Lost in thought, he didn't quite realize that he was swimming into more dangerous waters than usual. He had wandered right into the Forgotten Cove. The oddly still waters had a biting chill, and he stopped to turn back. But out of the corner of his eye, he saw a glimmer of something that was not normal at all in the abandoned sea: the shimmer of an eggshell. A dragon's eggshell, if he was not mistaken. This was no place for a hatchling, let alone to safeguard eggs... He wasn't quite sure how it got here, but he swam down to meet it. Lo and behold, it really was an egg... He gently grasped it with his jaws and swam back as fast as possible.
Seableached Sanctum
A small community of Water dragons seek to create a new life for themselves in a world without the Tidelord.
lucklocke rules | kingdomlocke rules
My plan is to do the lucklocke, with an added touch of kingdomlocke flair.
1. Every day, roll from 1 to 100 to see what happens. OR use the Lorelocke generator.
Random number generator | Lorelocke prompt generator
___Fight |
1-50: No Change 51-85: Minor Injury 86-95: Major Injury 96-100: Dies |
___Write |
Use the randomizer to select a number for the dragon you'll write for. My personal goal is 100 - 500 words at least. |
___Draw |
Make a little art for any dragon. You can either use the randomizer or choose yourself. I'll try to make at least 1 artwork for everyone. |
___Friend |
Find a friend in the Auction House! Roll from 1 - 21 to see which breed. |
___Breed |
Breed 2 dragons together. In this case, I have specific pairs I will use. Flip a coin when the child hatches. If heads, they survive. If tails, exalt. |
___Event |
A new current has entered the tidepools. Will it be a riptide or a gentle wave? Roll a random number to determine which dragon the event affects. Then, roll 1-20 to see the prompt. Write about the result. Coin flip to see if the dragon survives what just happened. If heads, they are still alive. If tails, they are out. |
2. Once a dragon gets its first lore/art, they can roll for a job.
If there is a dragon already with a certain job, you can reroll to get a new one or just stick with it.
Job titles | Collection of Character Creating Resources | DragonQueenHi's Lore Writing Guide | Dragons With Bios: Resources Collection | Lore/Jobs with the Sidebar
Kingdomlocke Job Actions:
Doctors / Healers:
If a dragon is injured and fails a heal roll; AND if you have a healer, flip a coin. (1-2)
Heads: The healer has aided your dragon's wounds.
Tails: The healer could not help your dragon. No Change, unless fatal.
This will only cure 1 wound on 1 dragon for 1 in-game day. Does not stack with multiple doctors. The doctor cannot heal itself if fatally wounded.
Warriors / Knights:
If a Warrior is in a combat event, and they lose the first bout, you get 1 free reroll to even the odds.
If 2 Warriors are fighting each other, you may reroll for both. If both survive, it's a tie. Otherwise, follow battle results.
Fortune Tellers / Magic users:
If you have a fortune teller or other magic user in your lair, and a negative event happens, flip a coin (1-2).
If heads, you can skip the negative consequences OR reroll the event. (Only one.)*
If tails, their fate has been sealed.
* This waiver works once per 'day', only in one event for that game round.
Assassin / Rogue / Thief:
This dragon may have some tricks up their sleeve. Roll a D6 (or 1-6) to see what they do.
1- The target is killed. Act as if the target took fatal damage.
2- The Assassin failed and the target fights back. Flip a coin for major or fatal injury on the Assassin.
3- The Target got away. Roll for minor or major injury on the target.
4- The Target convinces the Assassin/Spy not to go through with the hit and redeems them into your clan.
5- The target is simply stolen from and not injured. What did the rogue steal? Did the target notice?
6- The Assassin was already found out and is kicked out of the clan. Exalt or sell them.
Kingdomlocke Event Prompts:
These are special event prompts that can be used if Events are rolled. Roll 1-20 to see which one happens.
1. Let's start a relationship. Pick 2 dragons that are ready to breed and nest them. Write about how they met, and why they decided to nest. Neither can 'die' until the nest is finished.
2. Mutual bonding. Write about 2 dragons that come together and form a stronger bond over something shared between them.
3. Hunting trip. Pick 2-4 dragons to go on a hunt for prey and food. What kind of environment do they traverse? Do their jobs help them at all? And most importantly, what do they return with?
4. New blood. A complete stranger wants to join the clan. Who the heck are they and why are they here? The new member cannot die on their first day.
5. Training or mentorship. Write about a dragon learning something for the first time. What is the task at hand? Why are they doing it, even if it's hard?
6. A Quest for glory! Pick 2-4 dragons to go on an adventure to somewhere all new. If this is rolled, no one can die on the quest. Bring back loot and cherish your memories!
7. A new familiar. Buy a new Familiar from the Auction House, or equip one to a dragon who doesn't have one. What do they think of their new pet? Is it easy to train?
8. Achoo! Unfortunately this means a plague has come across your dragons. What kind of effects does it have, and is it deadly?
9. Dual! Pick 2 random dragons, they will duel. What are they fighting over and why?
10. I QUIT! Pick a random dragon, they hate their job and will roll a new one. (No death.)
11. Betrayal. Pick 2 dragons - the first will be the target, the second is the betrayer. Roll their fates. Why did the betrayer decide to backstab their target?
12. The Joys of Parenting. If 2 dragons are nesting, you can choose them. Otherwise, roll for a random dragon. If this dragon has no partner and can breed, find them a mate. Otherwise, buy a cheap hatchling off the AH for them to adopt. Do they enjoy having to care for a new baby or nest? (bought hatchlings cannot die on their first day. roll for nest hatch survival upon hatching.)
13. Monster attack! Something's not right - a monster from the wild is about! Pick a dragon to try and defend their community. What kind of monster are they facing and how do they try to fight it?
14. A Prayer to the 11. Pick a dragon to send a message to their god(s). Maybe a miracle is coming, or retribution...
15. Festival! All the dragons in the clan are going to celebrate their success. Write about one or two happy dragons and how they spend the day. No one can die.
16. Poisoning! Pick one dragon. They have eaten bad food or drink, and might be poisoned. Is it fatal, or do they stick it out?
17. Lost! On an expedition, your dragon has gotten themselves in a place where they don't know how to get back home. Will they be lost forever?
18. Competition. Have two dragons compete in something unusual or dangerous. Who makes it out alive? (Hopefully both...)
19. Working hard or hardly working? Your dragon is doing their daily job. If they don't have one, they're trying to help someone else. Is the work successful?
20. A Relatively Normal Day. Write about one dragon and what they do on a daily basis. No one dies.
