Cacus was watching the small breed cross-country event, since his round wasn't until later in the day. It was hard to focus on the race, however, with his clanmate Valley yapping next to him, "You better get this victory- I want to add as many medals as possible to my badge collection." "Our clan's badge collection," the Mirror corrected through gritted teeth. "And anyway, Lauren already made it clear that anyone who places on the podium gets to keep their medals in their personal hoards." "Oh did she now? Maybe I can convince her to change her mind." "You're insufferable," Cacus said. His wolf companion huffed in agreement. "Whatever. Don't flop." With that said, the arrogant Fae wandered off, presumably to find their Lar so he could pester her. ~~ A flurry of thoughts blew through Cacus's mind as he waited for the starting horn to blare. He was the first of the Sharkspirits to participate in this event, so he was going to set a clan record regardless of how well he did. But his reason for wanting to win went beyond that: he wanted to get a medal purely to keep it in his own hoard to spite Valley. The moment the starting signal went off, he propelled himself forward. Pettiness is great fuel, he thought as he glided across the icy track.

"Maybe so, but ski jumping isn't about being bigger and burlier," Pravuil snorts, kicking off his skis. He brushes past, adding, "Is that it? Are we all here? Well, then, sit down, everybody! We should be getting the final results soon."

Saturday - Ski Jumping
The sun outlines the Tundra at the very peak of his flight, limbs spread wide for maximum lift. As the judges take note of the height and distance traveled, he comes crashing down again. Snow showers everywhere, but he soon pops up, unharmed, shaking more snow out of his fur.

"Well, what do you have to say about that, clanmates? Have I achieved victory?" he asks, buffing his claws on his fur. The others applaud and comment politely, but more than a few roll their eyes.

"It's too early to tell. And you know what they say, Pravuil," Cantor says with a toothy grin. "There's always a bigger fish."

"Maybe so, but ski jumping isn't about being bigger and burlier," Pravuil snorts, kicking off his skis. He brushes past, adding, "Is that it? Are we all here? Well, then, sit down, everybody! We should be getting the final results soon."

Thank you very much for this event! I remember seeing the Winter Games last year and was sad that I missed out! This was very fun! She was honoured that her clan leader chose her to compete in this event, although she now wonders if it’s simply because nobody else wanted to do this. Brrrr, it’s cold!! She had taken a marathon flight before, all the way to the Southern Icefield but could never get used to the chill. Thankfully she can keep warm by constantly moving. She’s a natural runner and is treating this event as a long exercise. The skiis were tricky to move in at first, but she picked it up quickly. She once raced with a tarp during the Brightshine Jubilee, perhaps that helped? She experienced the thrill of victory back then, and she hopes to get it again. It was a much shorter travel for the clan of dragons Layton lead, renaming themselves in their new home the Winter Grove, and yet somehow, they were very very late. Layton sent all of the dragons entering off to try and sign up last minute, while Adonis organised the saplings, making sure they were all wrapped up warm and none of them got lost in the busy hubbub of the games. (Ahhh I completely ran out of time so entering all the events now if that's okay!) Entry 1 - Speed Skating. With the whole clan being late to the games, thanks to Quigley himself who had offered to organise the travel and get everyone ready and then promptly forgotten, Quigley was on the verge of missing the event, but was still eager to participate. He secured all of his loose ribbons and bandana, and left Ziggley at the side to 'hoot' him on, and flew over to the rink, ready to get started. All the other competitors seemed ready to go, concentration clearly on their faces, but Quigley was just there to have fun and feel the thrill of going fast, he certainly wasn't thinking about victory at all.

They had loved watching the beauty and elegance of the figure skaters practicing, and longed to have the grace and skill to be able to create such a magical performance. However, they thought it would be best to play safe, and just watch from the sidelines. However, as they were waiting for the next skater, they tuned in to what the speaker nearby was saying. "And next up is a new undertide competitor from The Deep, Perdix. Will they be able on their first go to claim the victory?" Perdix flew up in shock, as their mate Azura grinned at them and wished them good luck, after apologising for surprising them. Perdix flew down to the ice, which was cold on their underside, and took up a curled up pose, their remora swirling around excited as they began to skate.

After choosing some hockey sticks, and for once putting down his armour, he raced over to the rest of his team, told them the tactics, and then they were off, speeding along the ice, and slamming the puck as hard as they could determined to win.

Adonis was supervising them as always, with the little Spiral Kitty perched upon her back, snuggled into Adonis' soft winter coat, and clutching her plushie. The other four hatchlings were bounding ahead ready to get started. They grabbed their brushes and curling stones, Lleuad as the biggest carrying two at once, and got ready to play, with Adonis allowed to come out onto the arena with them, to keep them safe and to minimise any victory chants.

He'd never heard of it until they had got there, but Maolin, an avid skier since they'd moved to the Southern Icefield, had convinced her mate to give it a go. He'd been fitted with his skiis, and was ready to compete. He pushed off the start and began swerving this way and that, chasing the idea of victory all the way down the slope.

He took the corners as tight and dangerously as he good, loving the feeling of adrenaline rushing through his body. He sped through the finish line, after only one slip up, where he'd almost lost the board underneath him and crossed his claws that he'd done enough to earn a medal, or even victory and claim number 1
