Since my previous challenge has just come to a close, I've decided to keep going with something slightly different. The end goal of this project MAY or MAY not end up being the ULTIMATE MATE to Elendal, the final result of that last project, but that may change!
This is a bit of a hybrid between a Basic-to-Gems and my own Breed Out the Ugly variation. The goal is to start with an all basic gen 1 derg, and eventually get to an all gem-gened dragon.
If you're interested in this challenge and want the coding for the rules, toss me a message - I'm happy to share!

Rules
Stage 1: Generation 0
1. Your first dragon must be an ungened Gen 1. This can be as lovely or as uggo as you desire. If you buy them from the auction house, make sure they are RTB.
2. Find them a mate! Narrow your results to modern breeds and the appropriate gender, then search. Roll a d20 to pick the page, and a d10 to pick the mate.
a. If you do not like your result in gems, you may swap to treasure only and pick a dragon by the same rules as the previously rolled numbers - but once you make that choice, you can't swap back if they're worse. There's no requirement for triple genes. You get what you get.
3. Breed them!
4. Hatch your eggs!
a. Because this is a basic to gem gene challenge, gene rarity takes priority - the baby with the the highest overall gene rarity is heir.
b. If all babies have equal genes, roll a d??/coin flip to decide which heir to keep.
Stage 2: Generation 1 Onwards
4. Name your hatchlings. You must use the randomizer, but you can click through until you find names you like.
5. While waiting for the heir to be ready to breed, train and exalt or sell the siblings.
6. Find your heir a mate:
a. Narrow your results to modern breed and the appropriate gender.
b. Roll a d10 twice. Those are your page ranges for looking for a mate. If you roll a 9 and a 6, you can look on pages 6-9. You can swap to Treasure only search, but you cannot go back once you have made this change, and must still use the same page numbers.
c. It is suggested to pick something that will give the best chance of gaining a gene or gaining gene rarity.
d. No scrying workshop ALLOWED. ONLY baby preview immediately before breeding to allow yourself hope.
e. You must pick a dragon that has a similar RTB date. NO WAITING A MONTH FOR NEW BABIES. No more than 5 days difference. It is suggested you either wait for RTB, or buy the mate the same day your Heir hatches.
f. If the mate if not named, name them with the randomizer.
7. Breed your pairing. Follow the rules above for determining the heir.
a. The parents may be trained to exalt or just sold.
8. Continue until you have all gem genes on a dragon breed of choice.
Challenges
1. Every 5th Gen (Gen 5, Gen 10, etc) instead of buying a dragon from the Auction House, instead go make a trade on the Dragon Trading forums using whatever thread you wish to obtain a mate. Use a sibling from the challenge if possible, if not, you are allowed to get creative on where your trade comes from.

So a Basic/Basic/Basic dragon will have an overall score of zero.
If their hatchlings, have, for example, Basic/Basic/Uncommon (score:2) and Basic/Common/Common (score: 2) even though they have the same score, you would pick the one with the higher rarity, even though the one with two commons has two genes.
If you have Basic/Common/Basic (score: 1) and a Common/Basic/Basic (score: 1) - equal scores, equal rarity, you would flip a coin for the heir.

Well, here we go again! Starting a new challenge, and we'll see how long it runs compared to last time! Before we get into the meat here, if you're interested in following along, just let me know if you want to join the pinglist.
Additionally, the first page is primarily the challenge database - you'll always be able to see the Intro, Rules, Current Bloodline, links to the Siblings, a list of Updates and the Pinglist, along with a few other extras, like the codes I use for the dragon bios and the fund tracker - which this time is just a side note, and not part of the challenge.
Yes, I am QUITE a bit more organized this time! Now on to business!

It's time for GENERATION ZERO! The challenge progens! First step is aquiring a Basic/Basic/Basic Gen 1 dragon, and I chose to look for one that was personally objectionable in appearance when I took the tert into consideration. I ended up setting a friend on the Auction House, and she provided me with many, many awful Gen 1s, but ultimately I ended up finding this boy:

The randomizer named him Rubilax!
Rubilax is all Basic, in Strawberry/Seafoam/Caramel. What an amazing combo, right?
Then, it was time to find him a WIFE. I did up all the settings - modern breeds, females only, and rolled the d20 - got page 4! I actually forgot to note what I rolled on the d10 to pick her out, but I do remember snagging her from about halfway down the page:

This is Bloodpop! She actually came named, which is always fun.
Bloodpop actually feels like a lucky break to start things off. She's a Coral/Blood/Berry - Speckle/Freckle/Crackle (score 4 - two common and an uncommon on genes) and thus has a much better chance to pass something on - I was worried Gen 0 would be a complete bust because the chance of getting a gem gene from a gem vs basic breeding on the first gen two challenges in a row seemed absurdly unlikely, and there were a lot of gem genes on her page when I rolled for her.
In the future, it'll be a lot less risky because I'll have a page range to pick from!
Anyway! Breeding! We got lucky - not five, but...

Four ain't bad to start off with!
Next update will be in a few days when they hatch!
