Thank you![/i] I was wrong, and Laz was right. I decided to value my sleep over the shooting stars, but last night wasn’t as ordinary as it seemed. I am very grateful that my partner, Laz, decided to stay and watch another night of the meteor shower. He says the sky was bright enough to rival the Stormcatcher’s lightning. Then he heard the boom of an impact. The researcher from the Observatory, who was helping us document the meteor shower’s magic, returned to Gladebough Village to inform the school of the impact. And of course, we had to go see what happened. I wasn’t sure what to expect from the crater, but it certainly wasn’t this. When we arrived at the crash site, the plants were already speeding quickly away. It was an amazing sight. I’ve never heard of anything like this before! Plants of all sizes and descriptions fluttered, tumbled, walked, chittered, squeaked, and bounced away from us. If we were going to act like good botanists, we had better do it fast. We decided to focus first on the quickest-moving plants. This was our best chance to document them, before we needed to track them down again. [center][size=5][b]Walking Plant[/b][/center] [size=5]Spindly stilt-legged plants as tall as a tree. They moved like they were taking swinging steps. [center][size=5][b]Tumbletwirl[/b][/center] [size=5]A woody, round plant that resembles a tumbleweed. Instead of bouncing in the wind, its thorny branches dig into the ground to propel it forward. [center][size=5][b]PsyThorn[/b][/center] [size=5]This plant gives everyone a strange feeling when they approach it. The more magically-attuned dragons develop a light headache, too. This ability stays intact even after we cut it and put it in a jar for preservation. [center][size=5][b]Bountileaf[/b][/center] [size=5]Made of a single repeated segment, which decreases in size as it branches and grows. After the loops of leaves grow small enough, they fall and burst into dozens of mini plants, which tumble away. Once rooted, they increase in size and begin the growth cycle again.
