One last announcement from me!
Well, until next year for some of you.
But before that, I wanted to say a quick thank you.
Or rather, a HUGE thank you to all of you who participated this year. Last year was the first time I ran this event, and I was overwhelmed with the amount of attention it received, and overjoyed beyond words. This year, I somehow found myself even more worried. Worried that no one would show up, and yet, you all clearly broke all of my expectations, and I couldn't be more grateful.
I hope to do this for years to come, and you all have shown me that that is possible. That I can run a fairly simple event and still manage to make it fun and silly and keep people coming back. Thank you so much. Even if I get stressed out during the week because so much is happening so fast, at the end of it all, I'm grateful for it, I'm happy because it means I was entertaining people and making other people happy, getting you all excited enough to come back and try again.
And really, that's all I wanted.
I wouldn't run an event centered all but solely around giving stuff away if it wasn't!
So thank you, thank you to everyone who joined me, and thank you to those who kept coming back day after day.
Thank you to RaiStarDragon for the wonderful graphics they did for the festival, they're utterly amazing and fit in with the theme perfectly!
A HUGE thank you to those faces who put up with my chaos last year but decided to give it another chance in 2020, y'all know who you are.
Thank you to everyone who had kind words for the event, I've read all of your messages and I appreciate every single one.
And another HUGE thank you to RaiStarDragon, who is the reason I'm making this post in the first place.
You see, when I posted my note on the front of this thread stating that there were intended to be badges, but that irl issues got in the way of the artist and they may not show up, Rai stepped up to the plate.
They freely volunteered their time to make a whole host of badges for the event, one for every day that took place! I offered to pay, but they refused, so know that these badges were done freely, a generous act and gift from someone who had already done so much for Greenskeeper!
That's why this is one last mass ping that tags everyone, I want to make sure you all have the opportunity to claim badges that you earned if you should like to!
These are participation badges. If you participated in any way on any given day, be it guessing or the scavenger hunt, the badge is yours to claim!
So without further ado, here they are!
Sunday:
Chess
Monday:
Dungeons and Dragons
Tuesday:
Risk
Wednesday:
Pirate's Cove
Thursday:
Monopoly
Friday:
Catan
Saturday:
The Gladekeeper's Game-A-Thon/The Gaming Convention
There they are! I hope you all enjoy, and give a big thank you to Rai for the generous and lovely work!
Another quick note I wanted to make:
If you'd like to be pinged when I run this event next year, let me know! I can make a list of people to ping at the start of the event, but if you don't want to be pinged you can just look for me in the list of events anyway.
But if you'd like that, let me know! Several people have asked about it and I'd be more than happy to start a list!
But that's all for now, GG is long since over, all the prizes have been handed out, you've all been notified about the badges, so The Guessing Games, the Jar-Guessing Game for Greenskeeper 2020, are officially over. I'll leave this thread open for a while longer in case anyone wants to drop in to join the pinglist, but you all can message me just as well! (I promise I have gotten everyone's messages, I just haven't replied to them all yet!)
Thanks for another awesome year, here's to 2021!
Oh... but one last thing...
Cue the music!
What? You didn't think I'd just gotten rid of it, had you?
Thanks for a great year!
If anyone even cares about the lore thing, I'll be working on that next, but it's not important enough to send a ping out about so this is the last ping. :p It's just a few lore snippets about how the pirate crew banded together, if you go to the front page you can find a link to the thread if you want to! It's in the storage post with all the previous days stuff. Only has 2 days done right now, but I aim to get all 7 finished up!
Oh... and if you participated in this event last year and never got your snack pack... yeah I forgot, BUT GUESS WHO'S BOUTA GO BACK TO LAST YEARS THREAD AND SEND EVERYONE SNACKS YEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAW
GG 2020 IS OVER NOW I GOTTA GO WRAP UP GG 2019 good gladekeeper isnt that a sad statement lol
