yeah about that... i tried a roll, but it would've led to another guild self-destructing, so i'm making the executive decision to give everybody a couple new recruits before i try again. and i'll probably be editing the rules again here soon. when i edited the list of tasks to account for three gangs, i only added new tasks that generally led to exalting dragons, since i didn't quite trust the illusion of balance between gaining and losing dragons. clearly, that edit has tipped the equilibrium.
i could balance it out by reverting to the original setup of recruiting every day prior to the other rolls, but who needs to admit that i originally misinterpreted the op? not me! so i'll figure something out.
edit: i figured something out. added a handful of new tasks that should help rebalance the gain/loss of dragons, and also increase the utter chaos.
in the meantime, have some more fodder:
once each gang has two recruits, i'll roll for the daily tasks and see where things go from there.
okay, here's the recruits. Anya's new neophytes are:
Toby
Grub
Virion has recruited:
Brimstone
Shadoweaver
and Cherub (who'll get an extra level to establish her leadership momentarily) has these two siblings:
Melisande
Tepila
about to roll for tasks for this lot. brb again!
assassins: 1, he's not coming back
sorcerers: 11, bad weather
guildless: 29, juvie!
well, that's an appropriate roll for the assassins. i'm going to flip a coin to see which other guild they target; heads for sorcerers and tails for the guildless. we get heads/tails/tails! and the roll selects Melisande as the unlucky. so while Midnight gets the new recruits sorted, Anya seeks out the hole the guildless traitors went to ground in and kills the first one of them she happens upon.
Virion has decided to give his new recruits a day to settle in; that's what he told them, at least, before shutting himself in his study. Shadow and Brimstone don't seem to mind. it's a good excuse to see what the guild's pantry has in stock.
back at the guildless' hideout, Tepila returns from picking up her young cousin, only to find Melisande's dead body left cooling on the floor with no sign of who killed her sister. Cherub is less distraught and more annoyed when she can't convince Tepila to help her move the body that's more than three times Cherub's size. instead, Tepila curls up in the only room in the hideout big enough for an imperial to fit and plays with her little cousin to distract herself.
