A thrilled gasp rang out, and before any of the dragons surrounding the stand knew better, a Tundra hatchling had inserted himself in front of the stall. A few dragons, most of them from Fire itself, looked at him with slight familiarity; others just looked vaguely befuddled at the way he was dressed.
"Daddy! Mommy! Mama! Come look, it's back!" Flambaby shouted, eyes sparkling so bright that he didn't even look behind him at the group following him at a more reasonable pace. Two Tundras with similar colouring to the hatchling and a good-humoured Snapper covered in molten snow soon arrived, with another Snapper a few good paces behind them, looking as if he'd rather be anywhere else but there.
"Ten, ten tosses!" The hatchling shouted instantly over the top of the counter, which was just slightly too tall for him to be seen over.
One of the Tundras smiled indulgently, and nodded at the stall owner. "It seems we'll be taking ten tosses, then."
Flambaby's front paws pounded the ground in front of him in impatience. "Mama, you go first!"
The snow-covered Snapper approached. "I'll take just one, thank you," she said, gently placed one heavy paw on the bellows and winced when it nevertheless sank almost all the way to the bottom. "Ahem. Yes. Just one." The other Snapper wasn't even watching the goings-on, instead having turned his back to them with narrow eyes, as if protecting the group from an unknown threat.
The hatchling didn't show any disappointment in the least at either of the developments. "Mom, dad, you too!"
The Tundras looked like mirror images as they turned their heads to each other, and seemed to come to the same conclusion. "Two for us, then," the male said as they stepped up and laid their snouts upon the bellows, counting down from three with their heads and giving it two firm pushes.
"That's a whole seven for me left!" The little Flambebe looked delighted, and took a running jump before landing straight on the bellows. Each hop brought him only barely over the top of the counter, but the bellows descended well enough as his entire weight fell on it regardless. He was panting slightly when finally finished, unable to see over the top to examine their results.
"Well? How'd we do, how'd we do?" He jumped from side to side, unable to keep his excitement contained.
