Now we need to add in the identifying traits of a Marshland Poodle Mith. Their hair can be mistaken for a Tundra's, so they can be similar. Instead of shaving a Tundra however as none would want to volunteer for that, we'll use an Umbral Yarn as the hair, and apply an Accent: Extra Fluffy M to the Umbral Yarn. By doing this the once simple yarn will thicken up, and look nearly identical to a Marshland Poodle Mith's hair. Apply the Accent onto the Yarn and then add the hair to the cauldron 4. Next we need to add some Twitching Leg Bones and a Fragile Antler. The Leg bones are to give the creature some skeletal structure, while the antler will act as it's replacement "staff" when it comes to life. 5. Once everything is inside. let the concoction simmer in a low heat for about 4 hours, and occasionally stir. We want everything mixed in nice and well, and want time for the energy of the Enchanted Remains to disperse throughout the concoction. 6. Now we need to add in the attacks used by a Marshland Poodle Mith. Simply add in a Meditate, Dark Bolt, and a Shroud. 7. Now we're going to use a common alternative compared to anything lightning attack related as we cannot assume everyone using this has access to lightning based abilities. So we're going a little "mideval" with this final step. We're going to add some Charged Tungsten into the concoction. This is a rock that's plentiful and holds a strong electrical charge. 8. Finally we're going to need something to strike the rocks to release the electrical rocks inside. We need something sharp like a flint. So grab an Ebon-Edged Spear and be sure to strike directly at the charged tungsten and not anywhere else. Make sure to make it a good strike, and don't be afraid if it needs a few strikes if you don't hit hard enough the first time. 9. When the charged tungsten rocks and strikes by the spear, it'll release a powerful electrical voltage that will be concentrated and contained inside the cauldron. Do not get near or touch the cauldron at all during this, it will begin surging with electricity. Take a step back and wait for the electricity to settle down. When the fabric has had enough time to soak up the rich color of the Spores, the fabric will need to be carefully removed from the water and hung to dry, usually 1 hour in the Ashfall Waste or up to 2 days in well-enclosed area in the Southern Icefield or Sea of 1,000 Currents. Potion here:
Marshland Poodle Mith

Instructions and notes:

The Marshland Poodle Mith is a very basic transfiguration potion. Creating the initial Mith doll is but a child's art project, but it is embedding the doll with life that proves the true challenge of the adept witch. To begin with, you will need to create a Moth-Eaten Mith doll.
Moth-eaten Mith Doll
Which itself requires:
Faded Blue Fabric 1 yd. of Faded Blue Fabric
Dwarf Truffle Spores 5 oz. of Dwarf Truffle Spores
Runed Tuft of Fur 1 lb. of Runed Tuft of Fur
Silk Spool 1 Silk Spool
Azure Lure 1 Azure Lure
 1. The Faded Blue Fabric will first need to be dyed to the appropriate color. Using White Linen Fabric might be acceptable as a substitute, but it is not recommended as it will never achieve the rich color of the Marshland Poodle Mith, instead only creating a paler imitation of one. Begin by bringing a cauldron of water to a rolling boil. It must be a full rolling boil as a low simmer will not reach high enough temperatures to fully adhere the color to the cloth. When the water is boiling, boil the Dwarf Truffle Spores for exactly 5 minutes, enough to soak their color into the water, but not too long so that the mushrooms get cooked through and begin to fall apart. Using a sieving spoon, fish the mushrooms out of the water and place the fabric in the dyed, boiling water for 1 hour.
 2. When the fabric has fully dried, it is time to begin cutting out the pattern for the Mith-Doll, found in the glossary of your text book, p.1145iiic. If you plan to reuse the pattern, it’s a good idea to trace it onto the fabric first and then cut out the pieces following the lines closely.
 3. We will now begin sewing the doll together, but first we will our needle and thread. Straighten out the Azure Lure and carefully remove the feathers so all you are left with is a straight, pointed needle with an eye. Carefully thread about 1 yd. of thread from the Silk Spool. It’s important to use the Silk Spool to match the color of the mith doll.
 4. Begin by stitching the pieces of the body, right sides together. Sew around the seam, 5/8” from the edge roughly 75% around the pattern. Stop before completely sewing the body closed and invert the sewn pieces so the “right” side now faces outward.
 5. Now, you may begin stuffing the doll with the Runed Tufts of Fur. The Runed Fur allows the doll to absorb the magic from the life-giving potion, allowing the magic to wholly seep into the doll and awaken it, rather than merely animating the doll. Whatever other corners you may cut, DO NOT use Cursed Tufts of Fur. It’s better not to even think of such things, and I dare not say what disasters might happen if you make this cursed mistake.
 6. Once the body has been appropriately stuffed, you can finish sewing the body closed with an invisible seam.
 7. Follow steps 4-6 for each body part of the mith doll, then appropriately assemble the appendages to resemble the doll.

Once you’ve adequately prepared your vessel for the potion, we next must prepare the potion itself to breath life into this doll.

To prepare the potion, you will need:
Ghostly Aura 1 Ghostly Aura, freshly bottled, not the dehydrated, instant ghostly auras
Diaphanous Wing 2 Diaphanous Wings
Jar of Vapors 1 Jar of Vapors
Twilight Jewel Moth 1/3 lb. Twilight Jewel Moths, or roughly 50 moths
Moth-eaten Mith Doll 1 Moth-Eaten Mith Doll
White Protective Eyewear Any Protective Eyewear, for safety
Lab Coat Any long sleeved protective coat, for safety
Rubber Laboratory Gloves Rubber Gloves, for safety
 1. In your cauldron, begin by slowly pouring out the jar of vapors and bringing the cauldron to a low heat. You want to avoid the vapors simmering, so you’ll want to bring it slowly up to temperature. With enough patience, the vapors will begin to take shape into a Steam Gyre.
 2. When the steam gyre begins to form, you’ll want to stir in the Twilight Jewel Moths, to familiarize the steam gyre with its next shape.
 3. Once the last of the moths have been mixed in, bring the temperature of the cauldron up to a medium heat, and place the moth-eaten mith doll in the center of the brew. Continue stirring the brew clockwise to keep the doll at the heart of the potion.
 4. When the doll has centered itself in the potion, drop both of the Diaphanous Wings simultaneously into the brew, continuing clockwise stirring so they adhere to the mith doll. At this point, the steam gyre should have reformed to the rough outline around the mith doll, and you’re ready to apply the ghostly aura to bind them all together.
 5. Wearing the gloves, open the bottled Ghostly aura into the brew, and immediately stir vehemently, trapping the aura within the potion. The aura should bind to the steam gyre and the mith doll, breathing life into the mith doll. The Marshland Poodle Mith will attempt to flap it’s wings, when you see movement within the cauldron, immediately stop stirring and allow the creature to fly out, as it the soul has fully adhered and brought the doll to life.

These may be difficult to come by as for whatever reason people are irrationally defensive of them. Don't worry about providing one, I've already brought one of my own. Now that you have your organic and supernatural components, you'll need to begin by inscribing special binding runes on the organic, to ensure you won't be tormented by the vengeful spirit trapped within your necromantic horror. Once this is done you must quickly coat it with Red Goo, the source of which has been kindly provided by my master, and then submerge it in a bath of Silver muck to boil for 7 hours, or else the vengeful spirit will constantly scream in fury and place a curse of nightmares-involving-giant-lobsters upon you." [item=Red Goo][item=Silver Muck] "While that is boiling, you'll want to prepare a second bath for it in a special jar. Start with a Jar of Slime and a Vial of mysterious toxin (The mystery makes it all the more fun! What's in it? A deadly snake's venom? The contents of a beaker from the labs in the Tempest spire? Radioactive reactor waste? Vruaik's fashion tastes? You don't know!)" [item=Jar Of Slime][item=Vial Of Mysterious Toxin] "Handle your toxin with care! The last thing you want is a big dose of Vruaik's fashion sense all over your lovely scales. Begin by freezing the slime in a separate container for 20 minutes, and immediately follow by quickly mashing it into a sticky snowlike substance. Place that back in the freezer and periodically check it to break the ice crystals apart and keep it from fully solidifying. Then, take your toxin, and place it in the centrifuge until is breaks into it's base components. There, that, you see? That clear oily substance forming on top? That's what you want for this next part. Don't throw the rest away, you'll need it later." [item=Glass Beaker] "Combine this with your frozen muck. This mixture will encourage the remaining living cells in the carcass to begin replicating. The slime bonds it to them and it being partially frozen slows the rate of decomposition without causing frost damage. The end result should be something like a cold paste." [item=Irradiated Alchemical Reduction] "Now, the cell replication matter is taken care of, but if they are to successfully construct something they require feeding. Enter irradiated alchemical reduction, a solution composed of a rich crystallized collection of essential nutrients for living cells and bathed in a special radiation. Open your boiling carcass mixture, which by now will be mostly empty of moisture and encrusted in thick rubbery purple substance. Just toss the irradiated reduction in there. Season it like a roast Quail! Ha ha. But don't actually try to eat it. You may notice your alchemical reduction is simply sitting on top rather uselessly. You simply need moisture! Remember the other parts of the separated toxin vial? There should be two halves left, a murky blueish substance at the bottom and a skin of thick black slime on top." [item=Black Slime][item=Vial Of River Muck] "The part you want right now is the murky blue. Carefully pour it over your carcass a little at a time and mix it in with the irradiated alchemical reduction until the crystals are melted and the liquid glows slightly. Turn the heat back on and replace the lid to boil it for another two hours. The heat will make the liquid mixture incredibly thin and pale, but don't worry. The process of boiling breaks down the molecules of the solution in such a way that it will infuse the carcass and reconstitute as a lovely bio-gel." [item=Steelhound Core][item=Chrome Laser Head] "This is the fun part, where you get up close and personal with what makes the blueprints of life tick. What was this a carcass of? Certainly not a Mith. So it will regrow into whatever it was before. But that's no fun, we want a Mith! Our solution? Tell the cells to make something else, of course. Carefully mount the fine laser head to the computer core and set your carcass mixture into position. The laser is too small to see, but it precisely targets the very blueprints of life, knocking out and modifying certain parts to suit your commands. This part requires a hand much more steady than any dragon, so you must simply trust that your machine knows what to do, and needless to say don't stand in front of it while it's working. Let it be for the next 4 hours so that it can alter enough cells to override their previous blueprints." [item=Iridescent Cloth] "The final step in our advanced necromancy lesson, it is, yes! Your genetic recoding should be completed and all that is left to do is leave the carcass and it's cold slime/nutrient solution bath to incubate in the special jar. This cloth is a very special synthetic material that is incredibly difficult to construct, notice how it stretches like goo and shines like glass but is a solid clothlike sheet of material? You'll need to spread this sheet out, coat it thinly with the black slime, and pour your carcass mixture into the center of it. Then wrap it all up like a little burrito! Simply place that into the jar and leave it in a cool dark place for a few weeks, and don't feed it after midnight. There is nothing else you must do from this point on. The chemical bath will latch onto the newly recoded DNA and congeal into a biosynthetic construction frame to guide the formation of the new cells as they consume and replace it without any further assistance from you. Now we don't normally do this outside the deep labs, so how lucky you are to see this here! Yes! A Sight very few will ever see, yes it is! The imperial called Siorus from the outer labs has been showing a curiously intense interest in this process, but master says to keep away from him. BUT on to our project! A bogsneak and a spiral approach, exchanging words you're too far to hear. Eventually the bogsneak pats the spiral on the back and urges him towards you, shouting presumably words of encouragement after him.
28799698.png?mtime=WI3AmQAARKw.png

29227490_350.png

"HI HELLO
ALCHEMY MASTER ZORUK SAYS I CAN TRY THIS MYSELF VERY KIND SHE IS YES
NO I'VE NEVER HAD COFFEE WHY DO YOU ASK?!?!?!?!?!??////11/1/"

He stops to take a deep breath and quickly check the alchemy book at his side

"Oh wow test 1 yes what a way to start creating life yes it is but that's why i'm here right-"

The bogsneak comes back into view and shouts something you can just barely make out about keeping his energy under control at the spiral, who vibrates excitedly while reaching out to shake your claw very hard.
You've barely regained your balance when he starts talking again, louder and louder with every word.

"Yes well here i am here yes and i'll show you i can tamper in nature's domain just as well as big ol' Stormy himself yes i can I CAN!"

He starts laughing and you can hear thunder building in the distance, but a fruit flies from the direction the bogsneak went and interrupts by making his face significantly more tropical. He blinks for a few moments while it slides off his face.

".... Oh! Useful alchemical components! Now i won't need to ask if you have any Goo to use! Thank you master very much! Now what were we doing, creating Mith and legend? Only Mith, right. Legend comes later, when they hear of the deeds of the great wizard Arckrikkeht! Hopefully not misspoken as just Cricket.
I know you think, "It would be logical to use a Mith doll, they look so real", yes? But no! No! We want to make LIFE, not a hatchling's puppet! And for life, you need an organic component!"
Aged Carcass
"Find a carcass, any carcass! That roadkill on the side of the thunder-chariot speedways? It'll work! That suspicious Dodo leg on sale at Wing-Mart that you're fairly certain has had the expiration date painted over? Throw it on in! Hello there! My name is Bernivo, and my assistant and I will be aiding you in the creation of your new potion!

Just ask my dear friend here for any help in garnering materials that you may need, I'll be handling the instruction:

13427.png

First things first, before you attempt any potion making, you're going to need some safety! Any true potioneer knows the dangers of a splashing brew, just look at what happened to Baldwin! Fortunately for him, it was a relatively benign potion he was crafting, the only end result being a breed change, but you never want to tempt fate!

You can choose from a variety of sources and methods, but, admittedly, I prefer to simply use whatever we have on claw. I already go about my day-to-day life with at least something covering my claws and torso, but remember that you'll need eye protection as well! I simply find it a bit of a hassle to use on a daily basis.

Dusk Rogue Vest
Untamed Leather Arm Guards

I tend to wear the above when working, alongside borrowing some goggles from my dear friend, and fellow creator (albeit, of machines, not potions) Keg.

Gold Steampunk Goggles

I'll admit, using goggles meant for an Imperial can be a little awkward at times, but it certainly does make sure that I'm protected!

But of course, my safety procedures are a little more lax than what yours should be. This is not my first time in the field of potion-making, and what I generally work with are recipes that are more than a little familiar to me, so I'm a bit more confident in not wearing standard safety gear.

However, I always have some on hand for when it's needed, both physical and magical protections! For those of you who prefer to have physical barriers between yourselves and any potentially flying brews, feel free to choose from below!

Alchemist Eyewear
Black Protective Eyewear
Green Protective Eyewear
Orange Protective Eyewear
Pink Protective Eyewear
White Protective Eyewear
Black Lab Coat
Lab Coat
Red Lab Coat
Rubber Laboratory Gloves

But honestly, while I would prefer that you use some of the above, as you can see, I clearly don't, so I suppose I don't have much room to judge. Just do remember to be careful in whatever attire you choose for your protection!

Now, for those of you who prefer a little more magic to your gear, you can choose from a number of enchanted protections as well! You can use these objects to create protective fields about yourself, as well as to enhance the potion-making process, I'll go over the differences in your potion-making depending on what type of gear you're using, but for now, just make sure to equip yourself!

Given the nature of this potion, we are essentially bringing forth life from nothingness, I find the necromancer's set to be the best-suited for this endeavor, although you are free to choose another if you so choose!

Darksteel Amulet of Necromancy
Darksteel Cuffs of Necromancy
Darksteel Earrings of Necromancy

Now that we're both properly protected, let's get to gathering the materials we'll be needing for this, shall we?

At this point, dip tufts of Plum Wool and Fragile Moth Wings (Our Inspiration of Intent) into the Silver Muck (Our Source of Life), then add each dipped item in slowly. Allow the mixture to cook for 3 hours, and be sure to mind that nothing extra falls in. After three hours, extinguish the fire. If you have an Ice dragon, it may be helpful to have them cast a small cooling spell on the contents of the cauldron, but in a pinch, Ice Crystals can be added, no more than 3 total. Once the mixture is cool enough to handle, it is time to sculpt. Some students may find it helpful to work from a reference image. Form a rough figure of the intended creation. (i.e. Marshland Poodle Mith) It does not need to be perfect, but be certain to add the correct number of limbs, and antenna. Lastly, create a small pocket in the sculpture. Gently! Set the Twilight Jewel Moth inside, and re-seal the indent. The moth should not incur any harm during this process. If the potion has been worked correctly and the following steps adhered to, the addition of a single moth (Our Spark) will ignite the magic we have created, causing a almost instant transformation. Be prepared to capture the newly made creature, as it may be confused. [item=Marshland Poodle Mith ]

On the night of the full moon, sew three Runed Tufts of Fur together with Umbral Yarn. After you are done sewing, put them in a jar of Bottled Embers and let them sit there for nine days and nine nights. 2. On the ninth night you can start making the brew. Coat the bottom of your cauldron with Purple Sludge and bring the fire to a low heat. Let it shimmer until the sludge starts to bubble. 3. While waiting for the Purple Sludge to heat, chop up the meal moths and crush the bone fragments before mixing them together. They will provide the structure of the Mith. Once the sludge starts to bubble throw them in the cauldron and stir four times counter-clockwise. 4. Then, crush the Enchanted Remains into a fine powder. 5. Next, take the Tufts of Fur out of the jar and coat them in the powder you just made. They make the skin and mane of the Mith. Bring the fire to medium heat and throw the fur in. 6. Take the Seeker Orb and coat it in the powder as well. Make sure it is completely covered before putting it in the brew. Slowly bring the fire up to high heat and stir until you can see that the orb has completely melted. (The Orb would give your Mith the ability to see, so skip this step if you wish to have a blind Marshland Poodle Mith.) 7. Toss a Ghostly Aura into the mix to give the Mith life. You would also want to pour a vial of Cleansing Tonic into your brew to "cleanse" the soul and erase the soul's past memories. 8. Finally, turn the flames off and wait for the mixture to cool before submerging two Pulsing Relics. Your cauldron will start to thrum and soon a Marshland Poodle Mith should emerge fully formed.
