I think about 4-5 years ago I burnt myself out on the coliseum and have only really been in for short periods sporadically. I'm hoping this will motivate me to get back into it by having bright, colourful way to visualize my drops and progress. Other than that, my goals are to hopefully snag some scenes as well as some sweet stuff I can sell. I'd love to be a coli grinder by the end but I think that's a bit too optimistic.
I chose Training Fields as my first venue. I'm under no illusion that this challenge is easy but it's been nice to see the progress go up super fast in the easiest venue of them all!
After completing it I can't say I'm particularly excited for the harder venues. Maybe I got lucky with my drops, I feel like a got quite a bit of apparel and 3 scenes!! The battle stones one after the other at the end was a bit funny, I think there were 3 in a row than 2 others close after, maybe Sornieth is telling me to keep battling.[/i]

[i]I figured I'd start my next session in my most familiar and most used venue, The Mire. I'm fully prepared to be here a few days or maybe even weeks. My first drop was two geodes but I felt like since they're seasonal that'll be a bad idea, not in the spirit of the challenge and a bit too easy - so I went with the next. I'm hoping I can get a scene or two and help out a friend during the grind by levelling her a Mire Flyer.
I'm so thankful for the update. It's beautiful, if I could be anything I'd be a gator living in a swamp. The old mire was hideous but maybe that's because I've spent too much time there. Maybe the new mire will be ugly to me by the end of this challenge too lmao.
Got my 100th earth fest currency along with my friend's dragon dinging 18. If I had chosen to go with the fest currency, I would be done with the venue now but as it is, I'm a third of the way through. I think I've been doing this for about 8 hours straight, potentially more. It's a shame the Sicklemaw Gar, the other version of my drop that drops from the BLUE toridae at least appears to drop much more frequently than my Marsh Stalkers that drop from my red toridae. It feels like they're mocking me.
I've read about people using rally > elim as a method as opposed to scratch>elim. Ive always used scratch personally but I decided to time the two. [b]A battle using rally>elim to wipe out 3 enemies takes 9 seconds, whilst scratch>elim takes 7[/b]. This is because rally's animation takes much longer so it's not actually efficient unless you're training a dragon that's not able to scratch enough hp off for an elim. Must remember this!!
So this took a bit longer than expected! It didn't help that I burnt myself out during the first 60 and then just go busy. Must remember to do some small sessions instead of big chunks. Glad I got it done though. I'm disappointed I didn't get a scene but I'm grateful I got lots of new familiars to add to my bestiary. <3[/i]

I figured I'd start my next session in my most familiar and most used venue, The Mire. I'm fully prepared to be here a few days or maybe even weeks. My first drop was two geodes but I felt like since they're seasonal that'll be a bad idea, not in the spirit of the challenge and a bit too easy - so I went with the next. I'm hoping I can get a scene or two and help out a friend during the grind by levelling her a Mire Flyer.
I'm so thankful for the update. It's beautiful, if I could be anything I'd be a gator living in a swamp. The old mire was hideous but maybe that's because I've spent too much time there. Maybe the new mire will be ugly to me by the end of this challenge too lmao.
Got my 100th earth fest currency along with my friend's dragon dinging 18. If I had chosen to go with the fest currency, I would be done with the venue now but as it is, I'm a third of the way through. I think I've been doing this for about 8 hours straight, potentially more. It's a shame the Sicklemaw Gar, the other version of my drop that drops from the BLUE toridae at least appears to drop much more frequently than my Marsh Stalkers that drop from my red toridae. It feels like they're mocking me.
I've read about people using rally > elim as a method as opposed to scratch>elim. Ive always used scratch personally but I decided to time the two. A battle using rally>elim to wipe out 3 enemies takes 9 seconds, whilst scratch>elim takes 7. This is because rally's animation takes much longer so it's not actually efficient unless you're training a dragon that's not able to scratch enough hp off for an elim. Must remember this!!
So this took a bit longer than expected! It didn't help that I burnt myself out during the first 60 and then just go busy. Must remember to do some small sessions instead of big chunks. Glad I got it done though. I'm disappointed I didn't get a scene but I'm grateful I got lots of new familiars to add to my bestiary. <3
