I fully support. I think after a player has clicked it once it should disappear, like all other notifications. this was suggested the last time the black friday/cyber sale was going on, and very obviously did not get seen by staff (or was ignored for being too much effort for such a short-time event).
i believe i also supported a toggle for the star back then because it's extremely distracting and mildly obnoxious to look at (though it is blockable by adblockers).

I suppose I don't really mind the star all that much. I do often glance over and my brain will think "UNFINISHED TASK" but I quickly realize that it won't be there forever and it is a reminder for folks who may not go on the homepage much and would maybe not want to miss out on the deal over the time that it is available. Someone could forget that the deal is going on and be thankful for the obnoxious reminder, lol! But I'm in the same boat as most of you. It is very Loud

This. At the minimum, don't make it quite as obnoxious. I feel like you can have the star there without the box around it (probably change the star color to black so that it's visible) and it would feel less like a missed notification significantly. I'd also suggest, if they want to keep it, to move it to the front of the text. Again, it feels less like a notification in doing this. Is it still in your face? Yes, but it doesn't look like a notification anymore and people will still have that reminder if they need it.

major support .i thought they would listen and make it less annoying but they didn’t: and there are plunty of people who don’t have access to adblockers to get rid of it so that’s not a solution and people shouldn’t have to find an off site solution for something like this
