Dragon Share

The series has been around long enough to go into reprints, but it's not one of the great classics. ;) I really like it, though. The basis is human from a stranded colony ship trying to figure out the local culture and prevent the humans from ending up in another war with the people who evolved on that planet. The first book is kind of confusing, but it's because it reflects the poor guy's own confusion. As he starts to figure out what is going on, it gets less confusing.

It's probably the best example I've found so far of a humanoid alien race that genuinely thinks differently from humans. They're similar in a lot of ways, but they're not the same on some fundamental levels. Very challenging sort of thing to write, and even harder to make the characters engaging, but Cherryh pulls it off!

The first book was my favorite of the three and well worth the money. For a dragon, I made a scry based on my favorite character, Third.

I love your Whitefang and Dustfinger! WhiteFang has such beautiful colors, and the Dustfinger dragon fits him so well.

I've heard a lot about Pagemaster. Haven't read it yet but it sounds so good! Your dragon looks like such a fun wizard, and I bet he fits the character so well!

Interesting idea! I don't have anything like that, but I do have some book-loving dragons. The first one to come to mind is Lioph, who named himself after his love of books (his name comes from "bib[b]lioph[/b]ile.") It's called the Protectors of Celestria, and basically only available on Amazon. If you're interested, please add it to your reading list! It's an ongoing series, character-led, and so far, 5 books have been published. I hope you enjoy it too!
