Today's random breed in the scry shop was a abberation!! My first thought was the giant garden snail. :3c As for an outfit, hmm.. well I don't have to keep my snaily friend in mind, but I think this would be a cool fit for an ancient! (I really wish we could do accessories on ancient at the minimum) [outfit=2582703]

@NerdMom had the same idea as me (I thought I was being so clever, haha), so I decided to pivot and scry a European Hedgehog dragon :D Lots of hedgehogs don't hibernate, but this particular species sometimes does! They also eat cicadas, so I guess I could've done this for yesterday's prompt as well, haha

@JaceSpace thanks for flagging me! The only reason I know about the Resurrection Plant is because I received one and killed it by keeping it too soggy. KILLED the RESURRECTION plant. #Naturefails XD

@pinglist-29249 As with past challenges, I can't comment on *everything* because these would never get done, so I will be mostly throwing in a handful of post quotes (images) and a little extra commentary. I genuinely recommend scrolling through to check everything out, since we all have different tastes and it's highly likely a creation I haven't featured will give you some of those good brain chemicals :3 Sunday 19 May's Prompts I love doing this part of the post lmao, excited to have finally gotten time (on Wednesday though, oof) to get this one done. Of 37 before-deadline scries, we had 16 adult scries and 21 hatchlings - honestly, not as much of a gap as I'd expect, considering how popular babies are for their big eyes which can lend them buglike proportions. I didn't tally up breeds, but baby Aethers were very well represented, as expected. For species, we had a clear winner: there were 23 Northern Glass cicadas. That's more than 60%! Next most popular were the Behemoth cicadas (6), Magicicada periodical cicadas (4), then 2 scries for the Blue Moon Cicada and 1 each for the Dog-Day cicada and the green annual cicada. For dressing, we had 6 outfits inspired by the Behemoth cicada and 5 instances of the Northern Glass cicada, so much less of a gap in preference than scrying! And, counting all the real-world cicadas together, there were 7, making them the most popular out of the 18 outfits submitted! Because of the potential for variation in the random outfit challenges, I don't keep stats on them, however in general it's nice to see people enjoying that challenge. There were 23 random outfits sent in before deadline for Sunday's challenge. abozoro provided us with another cicada variant - the Blue Moon Cicada from Australia! I also enjoyed both their outfits :3

NerdMom was also inspired by this cicada for a scry and outfit, though at the time of posting sadly the outfit isn't loading for me.

There was something charming about Edenello's outfit based on the Behemoth cicada that I can't quite put my finger on, but I thought it was a great interpretation!

I loved Kywren's outfit for a Northern Glass Cicada - outfit and caption, really!

I went for a fancy travel outfit, since it's been 13 years since this cicada inspired dragon has been above ground.

I loved the soft colors in ReddyforFreddy's scry of a green annual cicada:

Draugwen's interpretations of our two cicadas were really great - I think the layering on the outfit really pulled off the transparency effects it was intended to!

CaptainDrakken and Polty both had essentially the same great idea to use Veilspun's Webbed Secondary and a sparkle effect, and both were great successes! Something about that secondary gene just seems perfect for this to me.

Our last featured image for Sunday is Kothra's Behemoth Cicada scry, because it really shows off the green and yellow inspiration from the Nature festival apparel (and possibly I'm biased but I really like the Mirror M pose)

We've hit a reasonable 6 image limit I think, so we'll just finish up with a final shout-out to the clever Fragariavesca who managed to bring in two geninely real Northern Glass Cicadas! Even though they weren't technically dragon scries, I did decide they counted as completing the prompt!

Our randomized winner for Sunday's daily draw was @CaptainDrakken - congratulations! I'll get a CR set up for your prize!

My random outfit from Wednesday!
GG decorative dragons wed
I ditched the headband, tail wrap and jester collar, swapped the coat for red for a bit of a pirate vibe!
Very neat event you're doing a great job everyone!
