The area seems to settle into calm, which Shikasa savors, fests are wonderful though also a lot and moments of calm are always appreciated. She only notices her stomach rumbling when the skydancer gestures at the banquet of food, and she joins the crowd assembling around the tables. Picking gingerly to leave plenty for others, she assembles a plate of plants and varied bug dishes and continues to wander.

She stops as soon as she sees one, lined up right before a few of the more popular shops. It's a make-your-own-flute stand! This activity is right up Delta's alley- she loves music, loves crafts, and love souvenirs even more! How perfect! She approaches the Tundra behind the booth, who is currently instructing a mother and hatchling Coatl duo. Once they get the hang of it, he comes over to her. "You're here to make a flute?" the Tundra says, a sparkle in his eyes that tells Delta how much he is enjoying this. She nods vigorously. "Okay, so grab your favorite strip of bamboo here- they're all hollowed out and pre-trimmed so you can get right to the fun part!" Delta grabs a medium-sized deep green one that has a few bands of lighter green. "Okay, what now?" "Now, you gotta drill out the holes!" The Tundra plucks an orange pinwheel from a bamboo cup on the table and now that she's looking at them, she sees how each one has a drill bit in the middle. She thinks that Lightning dragons would either be impressed or horrified. He shows her how to line up the pinwheel drill-side down, then encourages her to spin the paper blades. She does so and, to her amazement, the blades start to speed up instead of stop, propelled by some sort of wind magic. She continues down the flute, drilling a few more magic holes, and the Tundra claps with excitement when she is done. "Now for the best part: decorating!" Delta spends the next half-hour happily adorning her new flute, painting delicate wind patterns in light green, orange, and yellow, and tying a beautifully patterned orange ribbon to the end of it. Once she's done, she puts it to her mouth and a happy note calls out. A wide, proud smile spreads across her face. It will be hard to top this souvenir!

She hustles over, following the music, and finds herself on the observation deck. The room is positively serene, the only sound the chimes on the performer's wings and her pipes. Stelle gratefully collapsed into a pile of pillows, feeling as though a huge weight had been lifted off her mind. A cool breeze across her face, and the low, slow song being played in the quiet room - at that very moment, she would've argued that this was paradise. The player finished her song, met with quiet applause from those in the seating area, including Stelle. As the performer moved towards the refreshments herself, Stelle met her there, just to express her appreciation for the oasis of calm the flutist was maintaining. "I can't thank you enough, miss. This little slice of paradise is exactly what I needed - and your playing is absolutely beautiful!"

Hope nobody’s waiting for this seat.

She’d heard her practicing, and really did think she had what it took to be a performer. She’d thought Mojitath had thought so too, so it bothered her to see her Aura friend having a crisis of confidence! “All right, all right, you can let go of me now!” Mojitath protested as they drew up to the stage. Lifeanth did so, now that Xeroioa was in their sights. ”Stop fussing at me, I’ll do it!” “We just need to get her attention… ” Lifeanth said before taking off to fly loops over Mojitath’s head. That did it. Xeroioa looked up from her instrument, which she had been carefully cleaning, a bit perplexed at the activity in her peripheral vision. Lifeqanth spoke first. “Hi! We’re fans! And my friend is wondering if you really meant what you said when you were onstage, that you would take time to teach a few chords to someone interested?” Xeroioa looked from one dragon to the other, and focused on Mojitath, who was looking uncomfortable. “Is that what you want, child” she asked her kindly. “Well, not really…I mean, yes…that is …” “What she’s trying to say is she already knows chords, but could you give her some pointers? She’s really pretty good, I think, but you’ve got her feeling insecure!” Mojitath blushed and glared at Lifeanth, who had the grace to dip a frill in apology. Xeroioa knew a friend’s assessment was not always impartial so she suggested they go back to her tent, where she could hear for herself the level of Mojitath’s playing, perhaps trying a few of the classics. “Do you know ‘Song of the South Wind’?” she asked, as the two walked away together. “Oh, yes. It’s one of my favorites!” Mojitath perked up. Lifeanth felt her work was done and flew back to Obiewonth’s shoulder. “Let’s go get some cotton candy! I love those Windsinger green ones!” “Pink for me!” said Noberonth, as the trio meandered off to find a vendor, starting a good-natured debate on the merits of the different colors. But the golden-feathered Skydancer felt the urge to snoop around when they heard a beautiful, peaceful flute song playing. They followed their ears and flew all the way up to the source of this sound. Melody's beautiful performance was a sight and sound to behold, and Vimur couldn't help but admire her statuesque presence. Vimur watched closely and studied the way the cinnamon Skydancer's fingers moved to play each note so they could do their own cover, or maybe a remix. While being entranced by this wonderful performance, Vimur felt a cold air creep up behind their back. It was their father, who followed them all the way up to this discreet area. He looked very stern and upset. Spence is not one to make a scene, especially not in a peaceful area like this one, but that icy glare means Vimur is in big trouble. "Vimur, you know your mother worries about you a lot." Spence chided, "Why, then, did you wander off on your own? Especially in such a crowded place? You could have gotten lost." "I'm sorry Papa..." Vimur looked at their dad with furrowed brows and puppy-dog eyes, like they were about to cry, but this was just a disarming ploy to charm their way out of a punishment. "I heard this beautiful song playing in the background, and I wanted to learn it and play it for you and Mama. It goes something like this..."

The activities, the music, and ohhh the food- it was just all so good. It had been too long since Sunspring had allowed himself to fully unwind and let work take a back seat. In the back of his mind he could hear a little voice screaming about the mounting tasks that were piling up while he was here. But he wasn't going to listen. No the best thing for that voice was to be drowned out by the excellent music here. Time to find some tasty snacks and settle in for some of the local music performances.

She got a late start this year and barely put a dent in the suppliers and souvenirs that she needed to get for her clan. She had stopped by Joxar's to get the annual apparel release and some new scrolls to take back but had neglected to pick up any festival chests, as her clan was having dismal luck this festival and required her to procure the chests to bring home. Checking her list... let's see what else - ah, yes, there was a request for one Accent: Fading Melody and perhaps a Skin: Gale Sovereign, although that was marked as undecided. Her clan didn't have much use for the Sandsurge ones, but Accent: Sing to the Wind had caught her eye. Seems like the festivals went faster and faster each time, although the Mistral Jamboree was always a busy one for her clan with the numerous events and activities for participation, including the highlight of their chef's year - Mistral Meals. Not as busy, of course, as the Crystalline Gala, but enough to keep them on their feet all day. A soft melody drifting on the wind momentarily distracted Eventide from her task. It was a festival, afterall... might as well stop by and enjoy a few moments of entertainment.

Up a stairway, across a half-finished bridge that would terrify anything without wings, down a narrow alley back onto a main walkway full of dragons and lined with large buildings. Not eager to get lost in the crowd again, Nike turned and entered the first open door she saw, and found herself in a spacious public lounge. It was just as bright inside as outside, with the typical tall, wide windows, offering a gorgeous view. However, unlike most of the windows in the Cloudsong, which tended to be open to the air, except for emergency storm shutters, these windows were permanently installed with glass. Just enough of a gentle breeze still circulated to set dozens of chimes hanging from every surface a-tinkling. She saw Nephele's visible relief at the calmer air inside - the smallish fae had been complaining of the strong winds yanking on her crest, which was still healing from a recent injury. Remembering how their last hunting venture ended brought Nike some worry and guilt. They were both young and inexperienced. Nike had not grown up fighting alongside spellcasters, and still was unused to accommodating Nephele's physical vulnerability. It had caused frustrating mistakes, like Nephele's recent injury. Even the peaceful lands of the Wind flight harbored dangers to a young pair still learning how to work together. Luckily, it also harbored welcoming and plentiful cities like the Cloudsong, the inhabitants of which were eager to share what they had in the spirit of the Jamboree. A Nephele and Nike gleefully caught each other's eye and turned together towards a table heaped with food. (I don't have a wishlist but I would love cool apparel [especially wind themed apparel] and battle stones for the coliseum ^^)
