I'm sorry to hear about your dog. It's always difficult to say goodbye even when you know it's for the best.
My proudest permababy is SmilinJill, "the happiest girl in the world" (she's not snarling, she just can't keep her mouth closed because she's so happy--you can check her bio to see her frolic in a field of flowers with her familiar):

I have worked in the veterinary world, dog training, am an animal sciecne student, and have had to make the decision for dogs ranging from 10-21 years of age, and even then, it never gets easier. Not sure if you need to hear this, but thank you for giving them the peace of crossing the rainbow bridge <3 It is not an easy decision, and even when it is the right decision, a little part of you always wants to back track and try to save them, but the decision you made is always in their best interest.
