It seems to be weirdly a lot more colors than just Navy tbh-? Navy's just an obvious one... Females have the same color on both sides on the other hand, and Hatchlings you can't tell on.

I think what you're seeing is the transparency effect, akin to what Bee does. It's just not as obvious on a lot of breeds. You can see it on Imp Fs quite well though!

Also something I noticed is that crackle doesn't always have the same shadow coverage, specifically on male spirals. Didn't check other breeds. Look at the wing on the left, and how the lower crackle piece—that's entirely in shadow—is the same color as the lighter areas. Or how the creases in the wings don't carry over into the crackle. White Iridescent & Shimmer on Obelisk M appears to be bugged, it does not have the color gradient accross the "main" body, though it is present on the shadows, mane and on the underbelly.
