I mostly just look at them and name them whatever pops into my head at that moment. A lot of my dragon’s names are refrences to wings of fire or other media I like. Although I do buy a lot of dragons with names, I have a sandsurge named Powerbank and I think that’s better than most of the dragons in the clan.

So basically, go with the vibes the dragon gives you. Don’t be afraid of not sticking to a theme unless you want that for your lore.

Canoncially all my dragons are named by my leader, Cupcake. I feel like some of them probably give her a second glance after she names them. Like “are you sure?”

I just…use the random name generator and click it to hell until I find a name that actually suits the dragon, I’m also terrible at naming lol

Oh yeah, I also search up “different names for the color __” depending on the dragon’s color scheme, I think like half my g1s are just named after shades of blue lol

I usually name them after characters, because most of them are fandragons. I had a fanlair for a longtime.

But I guess my non fandragons tend to be named after characters too. Just, my own. They came already named, or I named them from old OCs I had for years. (I'm a writer. I have a ton)

Like, I didn't start naming them in serious earnest until i got lore.

My newer OCs usually follow a theme naming.

Those connected to my Unseen Nexus are called Anomaly, Distortion, Void, Error, Havoc and Abyss.

I also have two ancients in there called Mendacity and Sanctimony, so I might name my new auraboa perma Equivocation lol. Idk. I still can't come up with names either.

i name them whatever random word comes into my mind. that's why most of mh dragons have silly names

My dragons have like the most basic names. I literally have a dragon named Daniel. Some of them are a bit more creative, like Aloysius, but most of them have some variation of a real-world name.

Honestly I just randomize until it lands on something I think sounds cool lol.

Used to use behind the name, but I find the FR randomize names has a nice enough selection for me.

If I have an idea of what to name them, I give them that name. Otherwise, they get randomizer names when they get put into the coli. Most of my permas dont' have names I came up with. Some of them, I bought named. Some of them have been randomized. Usually if I have a name for a dragon, it's because they were a project that was intended to evoke something specific: BlackHole, for obvious reasons. Her parents are Gravitational and Collapse. His parents are named after the specific geological formation that the cave is in. That sort of thing.

There's a system i have based on gemcutting and the stage of bottlenecking im on. Otherwise its all green gemstones.
