My aunt once baked a pie and and used salt instead of sugar. It was sooo bad, they tried to give it to the dog and the dog wouldn't even eat it, she has never lived it down!

Recipe (and advertising is now in sig =3)

Soft Molasses Cookies

2 and 1/4 cups (281g) all-purpose flour (spooned & leveled)
1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons ground ginger
1 and 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
1/2 cup packed light or dark brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup unsulphured or dark molasses (do not use blackstrap!)
1 large egg, at room temperature
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

Whisk the dry ingredients together.
Combine the wet ingredients together.
Mix the wet and dry ingredients.
Chill cookie dough. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
Roll cookie dough into balls. Use about 1 Tablespoon of dough per cookie.
Roll each cookie dough ball in granulated sugar (optional 1/3 cup granulated or coarse sugar)
Line cookie sheets with parchment.
Bake! 350°F for 11–12 minutes
