Mirrors like to surround their prey

Snappers can meditate for long periods of time, and sometimes become integrated into cave walls and rock formations if they don't move for too long

I headcanon that Mirrors can use their tails like whips. Like paleontologists used to think... Diplodocus, iirc, could. Coatls and Faes can't though because their tails are too delicate.

Most Guardians can't fly super well. They can fly, but it takes a lot of energy to do so. They're the heaviest dragon breed and on average their wingspan only stretches about the length of their body, usually a little less. After all, they're meant for living in water, where big wings are a disadvantage and they can totally be huge and heavy without a problem.

Wildclaws totally bash heads when competing for a mate, sort of like that one species of dinosaur.

The night is dark and full of terrors...

pearlcatchers are facultative bipeds; primarily move on four legs but can switch to two for periods of time. thats how they run with their pearls, they shift them to their front legs and run bipedally.

though there is a common language, all dragons have calls unique to their species (though these can be learned). mirrors and wildclaws, in particular, are very chatty; for sound, think tasmanian devils for mirrors and the jurassic park raptors for wildclaws. imperials, guardians, and snappers can communicate through infrasound like elephants, so groups tend to communicate frequently despite being mostly solitary.

spirals legs are mostly for clinging, they can't walk too well. on the ground they just slither!

I have more headcanons!

Coatls have terrible hearing. They can barely hear, and what they do is muffled and quiet. However, they somehow have amazing singing voices.

Spirals fly clumsily, flapping all 6 wings at different speeds and times. They look like a piece of rope being thrown through the sky. On the ground, they walk like dachshunds. Spirals are very good at climbing trees and use their tails like a chameleon.

Almost all breeds are able to walk bipedally when they wish, except for extremely heavy breeds. That includes snappers, imperials, and guardians. Faes rarely walk on the ground, but when they do they never walk on four legs. Tundras mainly eat low-growing plants but occasionally will rear up to eat from trees. Pearlcatchers need to run bipedally to hold their pearl. And spirals rear up to look way longer and scare enemies.

ooh! i have a few!
-abberations who use scrolls to change into another breed will become two new dragons, one for each head.
-sandsurges talk really really fast, like they're trying to sell you something.
-gaolers shed the velvet on their antlers every spring. to dragons unfamiliar it's very... morbid-looking.
-banescales can, on average, fly the fastest out of any breed of dragon. undertides swim the fastest and, on land, you'll never outrun a mirror or wildclaw.
-many veilspun use plural pronouns for themselves- both to refer to an individual and what is usually many hundreds of others in their clan.
-aethers hiss when scared or stressed, fluffing up their fur and flaring their wings to try and make them look bigger.

Fae dragons are like a parallel to fairies and fairy dragons and are the source of powerful magics.
Obelisk are good at guarding things but also turn to stone during the day.
Veilspun collect fire flies and other insects.
These are just some of my thoughts.
