Yeah I gave her a pretty heartbreaking backstory. I hope that she gets someone to care about other than her group! Fingers crossed.

@yirmo

I hope I can give her happiness with time.

@MagicSpyglass

Thank you for her and her backstory, she is swiftly becoming one of my favourite dragons. I would love nothing more than to keep her forever, but only time (and pinkerton) will tell if that will happen.

@Sabariel

So many feelings indeed!

@Lixue

A big hug would be perfect for her.

I know I won’t be able to stop myself from following his orders if he asks me to kill you. Mizt sunk her teeth into Ouro’s leg, and he let out a yelp of pain. “Sorry, I may have bit deeper than I needed to,” Mizt winced. “S’all good.” Ouro said. “You’re looking out for me.” Ouro began to limp away, and Mizt watched him until she could not see him any longer. And if Lavender ever decides to come home, I’m sure they will want a place too. You spend all the time with Octavia as you need. It really is lucky you ran into such a good old friend all the way out here.” “This is one of the things I love about you,” Silver said, kissing Stripey on the forehead. “It’s how much you trust me.” Stripey began to purr even louder, and the couple snuggled into each other. She had just been so busy the past few months, the split had left a lot to document in her journals, and that was just with the perspective of The Disciples of Lewsyn, where Shinya had made her home. A part of her wanted to travel to the other factions to document their histories, but she was waiting for the various alliances and rivalries between the factions to settle into place - she had to be sure she would be welcome. Needless to say, she spent a lot of time writing, and it was all too easy to become lost in the ink and paper and lose track of the world around her. Which was why she did not notice Lyrate until she was right in front of her desk. “Oh, hello!” Shinya exclaimed, putting her quill down. “What can I do for you!” She was surprised to see Lyrate. While she was certainly aware of the wildclaw, they had not yet interacted with her “I heard you were working on a library, I had a proposal for you!” Lyrate said, grinning widely and almost quivering with excitement. “Oh, I guess you could call it a library,” Shinya said, looking around at the number of completed journals around, as well as the books she had collected on the history of the Scarred Wasteland. “I’m an author too,” Lyrate continued. “I write and collect romance books. And I know history and romance are very different, but I figured we could work together to create a library, we can keep an eye out for books of other genres too. I just realized, with our common interests, we could build something really really great!” “Yeah, why not, it sounds fun!” Shinya said, smiling slightly. It would be nice to have a friend, she reasoned. She had spent so long on her own, trying to figure herself out, she had not put much effort into getting to know other dragons. She only joined Lewsyn’s disciples because she had traveled with him here and he had been more chatty than Atlas had been on the journey. “Great! That makes us best friends now!” Lyrate said, her grin only seeming to get bigger. “This will be a great partnership. Let me bring over all my books, and we’ll figure out how to do this!” The wildclaw rushed off, almost running out of the tent, leaving Shinya alone with her candlelight and journals once again. But there was a glimmer of something in Shinya’s chest, excitement, anticipation. This could be the start of something big. But xi couldn’t help it, there was a certain allure. Besides, Scallop had grown bored of making poisons and concoctions from the more easily available ingredients around the Scarred Wasteland. It was time for more of a challenge, and xi had survived so much before. Sure, experimentation with poisons had led to Scallop losing all the skin on xir face, leaving xir skull exposed, but that was all the more reason to go to the Wyrmwound. Scallop suspected that the Wyrmwound exposure was one of the things that had allowed xir to be so resilient, and surely exposing xirself again would only strengthen that. In the end, it ended up being fairly anticlimactic. Scallop scooped up a handful of vials of Wyrmwound liquid, submerging xir entire hand and arm within it in the process, and nothing happened. Not even a tingle. Not to worry, Scallop reassured xirself. Just because xi was immune did not mean that other dragons would be, and this would make their poisons all the more deadly. Xi could hardly wait. Stories to Lvad were more than just a way to pass the time. They were everything to it. The very essence of life. It had hatched entirely a doll, and just like most dolls, it had no need to consume food. Instead, it was sustained by something else entirely: stories. It ate the stories others told it, and took the pieces to weave into new stories to share. Stories of bad memories were particularly tasty, which it knew was cathartic for the dragons who shared them. They could let go, forget the bad things, and Lvad could feed on them and create something entirely new. And the first dragon to hear the stories was Yarla. The two dragons had grown quite close, being two of the less bloodthirsty of the vampires. It was a friendship Lvad greatly appreciated, and the two often sat for hours while the other dragons hunter, Lvad sharing stories and Yarla listening. Sometimes, Yarla would share one of her own stories, to feed Lvad. It was a good relationship, a mutually beneficial one. And here they were now, exchanging stories late into the night, distracting Yarla from her concern as to where the other members of their coven had gotten off to. She could feel it in the wind. Sunset had always been sensitive to the wind, it told her where to go. Usually it was just smaller breezes, telling her where lost things were. It was a useful trick. But this was something bigger, like she was being guided somewhere she was meant to be. Echo had of course chosen to come with her. Her husband trusted her implicitly, and trusted in the wind’s direction. Even as it led them deep into the Scarred Wasteland, it also led them to avoid dangers. Four of their children followed them, all having been born on this great journey, each with their own connections to the wind, each far more specialized than Sunset’s. Echo had magical abilities too, having the ability to heal with his tears. He was a member of an immensely magical family, each member being gifted their own abilities. It was no surprise that their children had gained their own unique powers. I think I see something!” Sahara called out. She and her siblings were up ahead of their parents, exploring the wastes around them. “It looks like some sort of clan!” Rockabillie confirmed, looking back at aer parents. “Is this what we are looking for?” “I hope so, Gole is tired, Gole needs rest,” Gole sighed. Gole had been sliding on ice Gole had been creating under Gole’s feet to reduce the number of steps Gole had to take. Pala didn’t say anything, she just flipped a coin in the air, catching it when she came down. But Sunset could see a look of eagerness in her eyes. The wind indeed seemed to be pulling them towards the camp, and Sunset found herself leading her family within. They wove through tents, only stopping when the wind came to a halt once they stood right in front of a snapper. “Oh gods, not you,” Octavia groaned. Suddenly, Sunset understood why she had been guided here. Her ability had led her to lost objects, and Octavia had been an object of concern within the family for quite some time. The snapper, one of the younger generations, had turned her back on magic to pursue her wrestling career, taking no time to discover or hone her abilities. Magic that was not nurtured could be explosive and dangerous. It seemed the wind wanted Sunset and her family to help Octavia with hers. Though, it looked as though it would not be an easy task. ----- Next ----- @pinglist-3016 ----- I don't have much time to write and after bit because I leave for work soon, but I am so glad I got this done. Shinya was so caught up in her writing that she did not notice the wildclaw approach.

While she was certainly aware of the wildclaw, they had not yet interacted with her

“I heard you were working on a library, I had a proposal for you!” Lyrate said, grinning widely and almost quivering with excitement.

I just realized, with our common interests, we could build something really really great!”

“Yeah, why not, it sounds fun!” Shinya said, smiling slightly.

Let me bring over all my books, and we’ll figure out how to do this!”

The wildclaw rushed off, almost running out of the tent, leaving Shinya alone with her candlelight and journals once again. But there was a glimmer of something in Shinya’s chest, excitement, anticipation.

This could be the start of something big.

Scallop’s mother had of course warned xir not to get too close to the Wyrmwound, especially after the story of how xir egg had fallen in shortly after its creation.

Lvad loved how Yarla hung onto every word it spoke as it shared the story it was telling.

“We’re close,” Sunset told her mate.

“Look! I think I see something!” Sahara called out. She and her siblings were up ahead of their parents, exploring the wastes around them.

“It looks like some sort of clan!” Rockabillie confirmed, looking back at aer parents. “Is this what we are looking for?”

“I hope so, Gole is tired, Gole needs rest,” Gole sighed.

I don't have much time to write and after bit because I leave for work soon, but I am so glad I got this done. It was supposed to be posted yesterday but I lost it all and had to rewrite it and didn't have time for a rewrite :(

So many characters! So many little story lines! Sunset and her family are interesting :0, I especially love their theming around the winds (I say, definitely not biased with four wind-themed dragons of my own lol).

And OUCH losing all that writing does NOT sound great at all. At least you managed to persevere despite that.
