"Well, my interests can vary from time to time but right now I am most interested in changing base metals into other things. The main one is gold." He gestured to his necklace. "This used to be iron, believe it or not. But I can do other things with it as well such as lead into silver and back into lead again. More recently I have been attempting something similar with crystals... but all of my attempts have failed thus far."

"It's lovely to meet you," Ley said warmly. And she meant it. Despite the initial snag in their meeting, Minty seemed genuinely lovely. As Minty stood on her clawtips scanning the crowds for her family, Ley gestured frantically over to Toadleg, who was still chattering away with Sunset. She was sure Sunset had more important things to do than to talk to some annoying hatchling.
Toadleg spotted her waving and rolling her eyes, scampered over.
"What do you want?" She griped, grooming herself.
Ley scowled at the mischievous imp's impoliteness, then turned back to Minty. She was surprised to see the warmth in the other's eyes as she smiled at Toadleg kindly.
"I just love seeing sisters together." Ley opened her mouth to correct her, but then Toadleg interrupted, seemingly happy with the assumption.
"Hi! I'm Toadleg. I came last year, but I've never seen you before!" She said brightly.
Ley grimaced at Toadleg's bluntness. "Not everyone knew they were related to this family last season cycle, you know that right? Anyways this is Minty."
Minty seemed distracted suddenly by the mention of her family, and began peering around for them again. "Speaking of which..." she said distractedly. "I might have to go..."
Ley smiled gently. "No problem! We'll see you around."
And she dragged Toadleg off into the crowd to participate in the festivities.

"Happy birthday, great-grandmother..."
Sumire felt small, looking up at her great-grandmother.

A bit late to the festivities caught up in the crowd beckoning welcome, Shikasa (and still eating her snacks, Danaus in her pack) wishes Sunset a very happy birthday and continues following the crowd to the beach. Unable to resist a treasure hunt, she joins Laguna to see the sunken ship as Danaus plays on the shore with some other hatchlings.

After Palus asked to keep a strange-looking salamander, Teagan said, "Sure! Why not? But you have to promise me that you will take good care of him. He's not a toy, he's a living being. You have to love, feed, clean, and play with him. You also have to learn more about him, his history, biology, and culture. Can you do that?"
"Yes, yes, yes! I promise! I will be the best owner ever! Thank you, thank you, thank you!" Palus nodded eagerly.
Teagan smiled and sighed in relief. Usugaki looked at Viridis, who was still holding his gold coins. "What about you? Do you want a pet too?"
Viridis shook his head. "No, thanks. I'm happy with my treasure." He grinned and winked.

Havoc was just coming out of the water. Polly started flapping her wings as if the parrot was reassuring herself that despite having been magically affected while under water things were now back to normal.
Havoc saw a striking Nocturne clearly also just coming out of the water.

At first she frowned, wondering why anyone would carry a big rock to shore. It might be light in the water but surely on land it would be quite heavy.
Then she got a better look at it.
"Is...is that an egg?"

@/urbancountry26 - That's some initiative right there! I logged in right after breakfast and I'm already 20 pages behind! Thanks for your interest in our special Undertide boys and good luck!
(FYI: I also have 2 male Undertides who are NOT Sunset descendants, but their lore is tied in with Sunbeam Grotto. So if your gals are unsuccessful, I might have a potential suitor available later!)

@Storygeek
yes a tad overwhelming of sorts, I can imagine.
We are all crossing pawsover in the clan to hope at least one of the girls are lucky,
but if not - I shall keep your potential offering in mind...
I must say, I am having Fun, albeit somewhat a little daunting at times.

(Oh, you're kidding!
I wrote a bunch of stuff down, and it dissapeared because mobile...I'll try to recreate what I just wrote...)
*The two Obbies walk up to Sunset, bowing their heads in respect to the matriarch, giving a nod to Mudpuppy as well.
They wished Sunset a happy birthday before wandering over to the food stalls.
They found a ramen stall that catered to all sorts of diets, and decided on two bowls of [item=Giant Millipede] with [item=Butterflyfish] fillets on the sides.
The bowls were white porcelain, and came in a variety of designs and colors.
Briar got a Wind themed bowl with water chopsticks, Nebulae got a Shadow themed bowl with Wind chopsticks, a nod to their partner's inborn elemental affinities.
They each traded one of their sticks with the other so they'd both have one Water and one Wind chopstick each.
They were made of a special wood that wouldn't get soggy, or slippery when wet, with grooves on them to help give a better grip, perfect for a Water clan!
When finished, they returned the bowls, and were told they could keep the chopsticks as souvenirs if they whished, they even got special carrying cases, in case they wanted to use them next year when/if they came, or anywhere really!
While they were eating, they thought about where exactly they wanted to go.
They thanked the vendors, and headed off.
Briar wanting to explore the caves, and Nebulae wanting to explore the shipwreck- there could be treasure in there, and or pirates to fend off.
They had a healthy relationship where they weren't attached at the hip, and could do stuff independent of one another if they wished!

The Sunbeam Grotto really was lovely and seeing it bustling with so many dragons filled Lucius with a sense of nostalgia. Maybe he'd bring up the idea of gardens to his clan, see if there were any flowers at all that they could grow where they lived. He was so caught up in admiring the greenery that he got lost a few times before reorienting himself and trying to figure out just where Sunset was at, he knew it would of course be rude of him to not wish her a happy birthday at the earliest possible convenience.
Of course, Sunset was an even bigger imperial than him so she wasn't that hard to spot even at a distance. As he made his way towards her Calbrim slithered around his horns to peer over the crowd. As they got closer the much larger dragon felt a sharp tug on his hair and shook his head hard enough to nearly send Cal flying.

"What?" he whispered sharply, trying to reach up to grab at the spiral who easily slipped between his claws, twisting around his arm instead.
Calbrim motioned off to the side, pointing at another large dragon near where Sunset sat on her rock, "What're the odds of that? Same colors as you?"
Lucius blinked and looked around. The odds were pretty good when you had a twin (or almost-twin anyway, his belly was a shade lighter) and sure enough there was Lumina not too far away. He hadn't even considered that she might be here but he shouldn't be surprised.
He shoved Cal into the bag at his side and trotted over, raising a wing in greeting to both Sunset and the dragons gathered near her. He gave the elder dragon a polite bow and wished her the happiest of birthdays before turning towards his sister.
"Lumina! I feel like I haven't seen you in ages."

Deimos hauled himself and the egg onto the shore, completely exhausted from the expedition. Chioni came up shortly after, shaking off the seawater. Looking around, he notices a guardian, curious about his egg. It barely takes a moment to register that she was asking about said egg.
"Yeah," he said, struggling to stay awake. "That is an egg, alright. Found it in a sea cave."
The egg starts rolling away, and Chioni takes initiative to keep it in its place.
Legend has it the first Wolpertinger came into being when a bird, a rabbit, and a deer walked into a bar.
