if you don't plan to breed them (for space or lore reasons, or if they're G1s, e.t.c.), it's just another dragon pose to collect! they're cute, their eyes are more visible so you can have more fun with eye vials, and some genes look better on hatchlings too. functionally, they operate the almost exactly same as any dragon in your hibernal den anyway~

Ever hatched a G1 that was so ugly the only salvation was babification? The genes are more compact together or partly hidden. This means uglies can look good as permabies while the adult forms are horrendous.

Because I like to have a variety of poses. In a room full of decked-out adults, an undressed perma-baby tends to stand out really well and provide nice contrast.

tho, my only permababies right now are a memorial dragon where the baby pose made him look more fluffy-cat-like:

and this G1 baby who I hatched the day of (or after?) the Hear Today, Gone Tomorrow lore story came out, and he looked way too much like the description of Kamak, so I baby'd him and claim him as my lair's special little celebrity charge lmao

So I guess for me it's mostly lore reasons to make one a perma-baby, but most of my clan is lore based, so that just.. follows the pattern.
