Haunted by him, she felt as though she had failed him, and retreated from all responsibility in reaction. A hermit, Rift rarely makes contact with any but tortured glimpses of her sibling and the occasional traveller, whom she warns vehemently against the dangers of the bluffs. However, this role of off-handed protector brings little relief from her guilt, and her determination (and therefore, sightings), wavers.

I'm very new, so I don't have many dragons, but eventually most of my dragons will have a tragic backstory, as my lair is a sanctuary for Guardians who have lost their charges. The first dragon taken in this way was Dolores. I haven't finished writing it all out, but basically, she is a Wind Guardian who met a Nature dragon that spent most of her time in the Plague territory, researching diseases to find cures. Dolores decided she wanted to protect the Nature dragon so that she could continue her study for as long as possible, and over time she fell in love with her as well. Unfortunately, the Nature dragon was trapped and killed by a Plague clan, and Dolores was unable to come to her rescue. Her plan was to waste away protecting the grave site, until my clan's progenitor Arthur came and convinced her to come to the Sunbeam ruins for rehabilitation.
