MEET CC

____Hi! Welcome, welcome to my lair. Call me CC. What does CC stand for, you ask? Is it for Caecilian, my beloved dragonsona, or Caerulea Caeli, my other dragonsona? Does it stand for closed captioning, my username, which arose because I happen to have severe-to-moderate hearing loss in both ears? Yes, but also no, because CC happens to also be my initials. :)
____I joined Flight Rising during the Dustcarve Dig out of idle curiosity: a beloved friend reblogged something about the event on Tumblr, and now here I am, Flight Rising having thoroughly consumed my life.
____Down below, past the lore for this dragon is my wishlist and an overview of all my active dragon projects; both for myself, for the sake of keeping track of things. I've got a lot of projects involving expensive gem genes- and I am merely a student, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
____Above is a link to my progenitor, Hyacinth, AKA my lore hub, as well as the long, long story of the origins and founding of this clan. I put a lot of work both into writing and my own custom bio templates, so it'd mean a lot to me if you checked it out.

____Currently my Flight Rising goals are just to complete lore for every one of my permanent dragons (as well as acquiring even more permanent dragons), and possibly to open up a graphics and a lore shop in the future. Temporary goals of collecting all the gem guardians.

CAECILIAN

____No one's really sure where they came from, per se—though they themself would swear that they'd always been there.
____Born this world nearly blind and henceforth abandoned amidst the glowing dark of the Wispwillow Grove, Caecilian was the first straggler that Valerian and Hyacinth adopted as their own, the first member of their clan. As such, they are considered an honorary clan leader as well as being the foremost authority on magical knowledge within the clan.
____If the clan ever dared to stray back towards civilization, even the Magisters of the Oculus of Eleven might have trouble keeping up with them. Caecilian, paradoxically, has seen quite a bit. They've borne witness to blinding darkness that cloaks the Tangled Wood, the equally blinding light that threads through the Sunbeam Ruins. They've felt the vicious heat that pulses through the Ashfall Waste, the crackling power humming beneath the earthen skin of the Shifting Expanse. They've wailed against the raging force of every gale in the Windswept Plateau, and grown intimately familiar with the quiet energy that seems inextricably infused into every last living thing in the Starfall Isles.
____Other members of the clan would swear up and down that these experiences must have given Caecilian must have some level of preternatural sensing prowess. Is it merely their superior observational skills or borderline omniscience? Is it merely precocious wisdom or divine foresight?
____If you're ever missing a precious lost item and don't know where else to look, Caecilian will find it for you in moments. Uncertain of another dragon's truth? Have them speak to Caecilian—not a single lie can get past them. Hyacinth would swear that in all the time she's known them, even as a wee hatchling, they've never been wrong. Could that possibly be true?
____Though they're rather blind they do still experience severe light sensitivity (a trait passed to their grandson), and have opted to cover their eyes for comfort. Despite this, and despite being originally born to a clan in the Shadow flight, they are deeply attuned to the Arcane energy that pulses through the Starwood Strand. Though blind during the day, their eyes remain keen at night—and even in blindness, they carry with them an uncanny sort of 'sight.'

Caecilian's one remaining family is Grim, their grandson. They don't get to see their grandson all that often, due to his reclusive tendencies. Grim inherited his sensitive eyes from his grandparent, and rather than going the way of the sage spends most of his time in the caverns far below. He sends letters often.

Caecilian has grown very close with Virgo, afflicted with immortality and divine sight. Just about every other member of the clan is unsettled by his presence and though his parents love him, they can never understand, nor help him. Sleeping whilst tangled up with Caecilian is the only way that the poor dragon gets any rest. Caecilian is working on a solution to temper his all-seeing eyes.
