I'm sorry to those disappointed by the change.
I was working on copying over bugs from the locked gene post to the master post today, and grabbed some of the easier fixes to upload when I encountered them. So in a round-about way, the list being updated is why these fixes were being implemented.
The master gene error list is nearly finished and will be posted soon. It's something that we agree will be helpful in both communicating errors to players, as well as getting them queued up for fixes as staff.
Again, our apologies to those who enjoyed the bugged versions and apologies that those versions stayed up long enough to fall in love with. It's something we hope to negate with the posting of this list.

i really hope so too. i really don't think this is a "sorry if you're disappointed" scenario - lots of people apparently wasted quite a bit of money on dragons that were drastically changed overnight with no warning. even if the error wasn't what the artists intended, i think the thoughtful response would be to listen to the playerbase when they say this change ruins their dragons :(

Man, I'm the creator of this accent, and now that I've seen someone in another thread show what Vermillion Flair used to like, I'm sad I never got to see this guy with it because the colors would have matched so well ;v;

Absolutely. I don't understand the lack of transparency with their intentions. It feels like someone is constantly making snap decisions on how things should be done "correctly" and just implementing them without discussion/warning. How does this type of thing keep happening? It's so dissapointing that after the "fixes" with tun Butterfly, Juipiter/Saturn, ect, they take no steps to make sure it doesn't happen again. Why keep undermining player expectations when it would be so simple to notify us what is a bug and isn't? That's why I think these decisions are made on a whim without much consideration or group discussion. Yikes.

I respect that you all had a vision, but, people trusted you to be honest in communicating about the genes. Like, you used images with these genes on Obelisks as part of the announcement of the thread, showcasing the unique mane art, leading the playerbase to believe this was the correct and intended behavior of the genes on the Obelisk breed. Now out of nowhere the art has been changed, and that leaves a bad taste in everyones' mouths because of the lack of transparency and the obvious hype staff put behind the look of the genes on Obelisks.
It's not like you all had the correct art in the banner/group image and the wrong art went into effect - that would have been an understandable 'oops'. The banner literally uses an obelisk hatchling with Pistachio Flaunt/Lead Flair and the 'bugged' obelisk mane/tail/fur behavior.

Fortunately, I only had one obelisk with flair but now he’s way too green. I’m putting the screenshot of his old coloration in his bio so that they can be used as art reference but I’m so disappointed. I’m lucky that I even had a screenshot of him.
There was never any reason to believe the gene was bugged and I loved it so much. I’m going to have to go double check that none of my planned projects were ruined by the change.
