Blackbird is not a fan of New Year celebrations, and rather prefers to spend this time by himself. It's not that he doesn't enjoy passing the time with his clanmates, but he is not a fan of being overwhelmed by the strenuous noise and glowing colours.
Plus, he doesn't want people celebrating his birthday.
He has the misfortune -or rather, [i]fortune[/i]- of sharing his birthday with such a special date (at least for the rest of the clan), so most tend to forget about him. And Blackbird is thankful, as it's not his favourite event, being just a grim reminder of how close he is to death.

But yeah.
I tend to make up dragon-variant of what we do in ways that make sense to me for dragons (that are not influenced by especially the religions we have, but also other things) - and I have no idea for New Year's yet.
Since it's always during NotN I don't know if there is anything special - I think the NotN celebration is the special thing!
They'll def be looking out for any unattended eggs/hatchlings that may need care or even a new home. [emoji=nocturne winking size=1]

Thore has declared a temporary truce with the Gaolers in the clan, as they got off on the wrong foot.
