Lore:
With the revival of the Gaolers Seeker Order, some of those ancient dragons remembered the old stories of the Arcanist, who at first saw the Shade from his Observatory. These Gaolers decided to leave the Souther Icefield and traveled north. Leaving all known behind them.
While seeking for the Shade those Gaolers spread all over the Starfall Isles. They agreed on a meeting each newmoon to share their observations, their newly found knowledge about this region and where they found signs of the Shade.
It was during those monthly meetings that they saw, how they started to change. The fur of them almost got completely white. Some got distinct markings in the colors of the Arcanist, but mostly their fur just faded to white. Only exception from this were their wings and manes. They brightend overall with the pink tones native to the crystals of the Crystalspine Reaches. They discovered, that they didn’t need their Wintercoat here, and they stopped shedding the fur.
Without any real hints at the Shade, the Starfall Isles just smelled like the Southern Icefield, these Gaolers took their duty in taking care of the Starfall Isles. They patrol the realm of the Arcanist, searching for the Shade and keeping their inhabitants safe. They start to get used to all the different kind of dragons living there. And so some of them settled with other kind of dragons and protect their new clans and homes.
But once a month, during the newmoon all the Gaolers gather at the Crstalspine Reaches. They are still Seekers and on their duty. It was during one of those meetings, that they decided, they need an own name to call themselves. And as their manes resemble all the colors of those crystalline peaks, they started to call themselves Crystal Manes.
