Hi everyone! I've been particing animal (and in general, sound) imitation for about 3 years now. Well, mostly it was just exercising the same, though many, sounds over and over again! This has to change RIGHT NOW.
Give me a challenge, let me record the sounds of a familiar of your choice! I will use a real-life counterpart animal or item (e.g. a seal for a cumulus seal or creaking wood for the haunted NotN chair)
Fill out the following form to challenge me for some voicing practice:
1. Username
2. The familiar you'd like to challenge me to voice (preferrably using the item code, like this - [item=Phoenix]. The code is [*item=the name of a familiar] without the "*")
3. The special word.
4. Any comments/thoughts? (I'm going to headcanon how certain familiars who have no real-life counterpart (e.g. a Cumulus Seal probably sounds like a seal, but how does a Kyonrinrin sound? Here's when headcanons come in!) so if you have certain expectations, drop them here! Or leave empty if you give me creative freedom.)
Important stuff:
• The service is free! I'm doing this for practice,
not for profit.
• For the same reason - yes, I make all these sounds myself. Not even with sound editing tools. I had recorded my imitations in the past and had a lot of really harsh accusations that I turn on a real animal's recording. Well, nah) I try to replicate all the sounds with my vocal cords, occasionally covering my mouth with my hands to make the sounds deeper (like when roaring), and I'll probably be using some tools like paper or metal surfaces to replicate NotN familiars should you ask for one (I'll mention if I used something different). My point is clear - I'm not tricking you).
• With that said, there will be two lists below: short-term requests and long-term requests. I already know how to imitate many animals, but the point is to challenge me! So if I replied saying that your familiar is in a short-term list, this means that I'm in the luck and I don't need time to learn how to imitate this animal - I just need to record it! If your suggestion is in a long-term list, this means I don't know how to imitate that one just yet, and I'll take the time to prepare for the recording ;)
• I won't make any fish-like familiars (since you know, a silent recording is not fun!) and Beastclans (pretty sure they talk like humans, with maybe miths and manticores not being so).
So, I'll leave Fushigi, my progen, in charge! She will send me your requests. Go girl!

Ride the iron golem through a storm at midnight; metal!

The bluefin charger hunts on thin ice. It will charge its prey, breaking the ice beneath their feet, sending it to a watery grave. The charger itself is semi-aquatic.

Fushigi is surprised. Already?
Your challenge is in the long-term list! I have to refine the neighing part and make sure it sounds like metal) That's one very interesting challenge, thank you!

@VolcanicThunder
Thank you!
I think I'll put it in a long-term list as well (though this isn't as complicated!) as I need to come up with an idea! These familiars sure are unique! This is a very interesting challenge to work with!

Pleaseeeeeee [item = colorburst buttersnake]
I have no idea what sound they'd make, haha. Maybe a hiss and a fluttering sound?
Oh, also a [item = grasslands trunker]
soft toots
This buttersnake will shed its wings when startled. (Colored by Grovey.)
