Vedaal has to try very hard to stay at the edges of the group of onlookers, avoiding the attention of the others. He carries himself with a grace that betrays his origin, but only to a trained eye. His gaze is sharp and trained as he considers the dragons Din presents. His gaze settles near Eluned, considering the rooster for a moment, falling squarely on Ebris. And the small crowd around him. Vedaal smiles softly, moving quietly to be near Galahad. "I hope you don't mind me standing here for a beat, friend," Vedaal addresses the spiral cheerfully. His voice like wind chimes and carrying a faint desert-dweller accent. Vedaal stands in silence for a while before pulling out a small sketchbook, which he begins to draw in, eyes on Ebris the whole time. "Galahad, was it?" Vedaal finally says, still not looking at the spiral. "You carry yourself well, my friend. If you wish, I could use assistance at my wagon. I design outfits, you see. Outfits for kings and queens, dancers and actors, warriors and peasants alike." Vedaal finally glances at the spiral, smiling softly. "You have the look of someone who would enjoy helping. It's not too glamorous, nor is it particularly profitable, as it is a traveling shop... but you would get to see the world, learn a craft, and show your beauty as we go along." [columns] The conversation trails back to silence. Vedaal finally seems content with his sketch. He seals it with a clear coating of what appears to be paint before carefully pulling the page from the binding. He turns to Galahad, handing him the parchment with that same soft smile. "An example of what you could be, my friend. It is yours to keep, to take with you wherever you may choose to go," Vedaal bows slightly before striding away. [nextcol] [outfit=692158] [/columns] Vedaal waits until the others have left Ebris before approaching himself. He nods to Eluned, smiles at the rooster, and sits down on the ground on the other side of the Snapper from the nocturne. He remains there for a short time, again hard at work in his sketchbook, before he speaks. "Your name was Ebris? A fine name," Vedaal considers his sketch for a moment, chewing on the end of his charcoal pencil. He speaks as he resumes sketching. "I'd not ask you to come with me, and I assume you have a fair amount of requests already. It seems you are fairly popular with the visitors." Vedaal sighs, setting his pencil down and glancing over at the nocturne apologetically. "I'm sorry I must make your decision even more difficult. I know of three different groups who would greatly enjoy your company. "If you favor combat or thievery, I know of a set of a few mercenaries who would happily take you in. Likewise, I know of a thief looking for an apprentice, or partner. You seem suited to hiding in shadows, but I know that may not be the best life for you. "If you prefer adventure, there is a well known pirate crew who would be willing to take you in. I am good friends with their Captain, and she would not hesitate to take another hand on board." Vedaal smiles at the thought. "Captain Adhara is a good woman. She said she was sorry she couldn't be here herself, but she doesn't do too well on land." "Though I believe the best place for you would be at clan Xelestial. Their matriarch takes great pride in accepting any dragon who wishes to find a home. She would also be willing to take in your friend here," Vedaal chuckles at the rooster, and locks gazes with Eluned, "That is, if the two of you wished to stay together." Vedaal allows himself to fall into silence once more, resuming his sketch. He hums a soft tune as he works, simply being with the other dragons. [columns] [outfit=692196] [nextcol] Vedaal seals his sketch and stands, brushing off his pants. "This is for you, friend," he hands Ebris the sketch, "As thanks for your time." He bows to her deeply, the pendents and other jewelry he wears jingling with the motion. "Thank you very much for hosting this event, ma'am. I do apologize for taking so much time here," He chuckles softly, " I can only hope my words will make a difference. "I'd very much like to learn more about Ebris and Eluned, if your writer had anything to share," Vedaal glances back at the collection of dragons, "I'm afraid I cannot stay too long, I must return to my wagon, but if any of the dragons I've spoken to wish to speak some more, simply say the word and I'll come by again," Vedaal bows once more, "Thank you, again, for your time. Although small, she looked mighty fierce; piercing ruby eyes accompanied by blood-stained attire gave her the look of an assassin, crimson-splotched wings adding to the menacing effect. Alongside her flew a beautiful little Paradise Zalis, his vibrant feathers soaring on the air. The unexpected duo made an elegant landing just before a charming lady Imperial. "Salutations, I am Precious," greeted the clan leader, nodding to the dragon placed in front of her. "I have a proposition for you." Precious motion to her companion, who pulled something out of her bag—a topaz amulet, glittering with the magnificence of the sun. He took a few hops in Temperance's direction, holding the jewelry out for her to take. "Please, take this gift," the dark dragon insisted. "Even if you don't end up accepting my offer, I'd like you to have it. With that, the smaller of the reptiles got on with her proposal, "I'd like you to join my clan." "You seem like a formidable being, that brings grandeur and confidence following close behind you. If you joined my clan, you could have all the freedom you wanted, do anything you pleased. We are a band of misfits, taking in anyone that wishes to join or those who are rejected by their families." She paused, letting Temperance soak in the info she was spewing. "It is not often that I seek out dragons specifically to join us. So, I hope to see you among our numbers. Thank you for your time, Xander and I will be leave you be, for now."

Should he go with the fancily-dressed Skydancer, he had the potential of becoming a mercenary, a thief, a pirate, or simply a lollygagger. Well, perhaps not a lollygagger since he was certain that he would find something for himself eventually, but he would have the time to think and relax. He took the sketch that he was given and studied it as he collected his thoughts. As Ebris was thinking, he overheard what Din was relating to Meili. Cinder and Dimness were offering a large portion of their group sanctuary. Yet another place for him to lollygag and find out what he wanted to do at his own pace. He could go with Esmerelda and climb to power. He could become a mercenary, a thief, a pirate, or take some time to figure out what it was that he really wanted to do. Or he could just live a life of simplicity and shadows. Ebris decided that he would wait and see if Esmerelda would expound on her offer before making a final decision. @kitsune56 Lyric and Gaara listened carefully to Ratazi. While the Pearlcatcher had made quite certain that they would both be quite welcomed in Clan Aerewyn, they took the time to weigh the words that had been spoken. They would be able to have their own home built, either overlooking the Bay or near a sanctuary. They would even have friendly neighbors, more or less, and have a fair chance of becoming close to the dragons who they would be living with. That was a change from the relatively large clan they were currently residing with. They were even offered an ‘incentive package.’ While the Smirch gene scrolls weren’t actively sought after by the Wild Beats, they were on the lookout for Vials of Scattersight. Poor Sol was currently a touch disoriented. Treasure and gems were even being offered, if they were willing to wait. The pair had been about to accept Ratazi’s offer when they overhead what Din was relaying to Meili. It seemed Cinder and Dimness were offering many of their group sanctuary. Was that what the Mirror and Skydancer pair offering more in their interest? “My apologies, but, as wonderful as your offer is, we cannot give you a confident answer at this exact time,” Lyric finally said. “Would you mind waiting for a moment as we gather our thoughts? There are options that we would like to discuss between ourselves.” [columns] [nextcol] @Crysi102 Galahad looked at the sketch that he’d been given, then carefully tucked it between his arm and body. He rather liked the simple but elegant pieces that had essentially been recommended to him. But the offer to go with Vedaal and simply help others? His time with the Wild Beats had shown him what the rewards were for helping others with not much if anything was done in return. One couldn’t expect to turn a profit from such work, but Galahad currently wasn’t in need of currency. And all the while, he could think of what it was that he did want to turn his wings to. He wanted to take the Skydancer’s offer, but what he heard pass between Meili and Din made him pause. Two dragons, Cinder and Dimness, were offering him along with a fair amount of the others sanctuary. Did he want to go with the two females? He leaned back slightly to think for a moment longer.[/columns] [columns] [nextcol] Din turned away from Meili so she could answer Vedaal properly. “Vedaal, wasn’t it? @Altariel It seemed they offered him a much simpler life, where he could stay in the shadows and potentially have next to no worries for the rest of his life, or at least for the next chapter in his life. His attention was taken once again shortly after.
@Crysi102 Ebris listened quietly to what Vedaal had to say, and he found himself thinking about the possibilities.

There are options that we would like to discuss between ourselves.”

fancy-wind-v2.png
603082p.png @Crysi102 Galahad looked at the sketch that he’d been given, then carefully tucked it between his arm and body. He leaned back slightly to think for a moment longer.
35332085p.png Din turned away from Meili so she could answer Vedaal properly. “Vedaal, wasn’t it? Ebris and Eluned, it simply looks like they’re close. In actuality, Ebris isn’t fond of either crowds or open spaces. Eluned, being a Snapper and comparitively large, makes a convenient wall. He shows apptitude for roles that require one to stay still and quiet. He’s not one to move much unless provoked, nor is one to speak before being spoken to. He’s also quiet on his feet. His wings are a different story, but he tends to stay on the ground anyhow.
Eluned… Ah. A long story shortened to a short story, certain events happened and now many of us suspect that he believes that he is a chicken. An exceptionally large chicken with no feathers and who is able to speak, but a chicken. His a gentle soul, though, I can attest to that, even after his first mate left to serve the Windsinger. Should any of the dragons you were speaking to have any questions, my mate Echo-” At the mention of his name, the little Fae pokes his head out from where he had been hiding under Din’s wing “-will come and find you.”
33031566p.png “Will come and find you,” Echo confirmed before disappearing into Din’s fur again.

All’s good on length! The more that’s provided, the more I can work with~

I’m glad that you like the idea! Since I’m in a bit of a rush, but I didn’t want to give them away to just anyone, I devised this little event.

At the moment, I’m not including your gem offer just yet, since for the most part, others have given lore(-ish) reason, but I’ll keep it in mind!

And thank you for the dressups! Galahad and Ebris have snuck them into their descriptions~

Esmerelda's curved smiled curls even further and she is just about to speak when she is interrupted by others. She scowls briefly and steps to the side, waiting for them to finish. She is a patient woman, and Esmerelda likes a good challenge. As she listens to the bargains these other dragons make, the Nocturne hides a small chuckle.

When the last one is done, she studies Ebris' expression. There is hard deliberation on his face, weighing the pros and cons of his choices. He does not bite at the next best thing; Esmerelda can see he deliberates and plans his next action carefully, waits for the right moment and the right path. She appreciated this, approves of Ebris' careful treading. He would make a fine navigator, a good hand to have on the ship.

Their eyes meet and Esmerelda smiles wider than earlier.

"You would leave to chance what is to happen to you?" She laughs, tail snapping behind her, "Live your days like a lapdog until the next meal? Mercernaries are only as good as the hand that pays them."

Esmerelda approaches him again, getting on eye level with the Mirror again as she pushes back her hat. "And piracy? Love, if you wish to sail the seas, you would need a good crew, a good captain. I am here to meet you myself, I do not send a messenger in my place. I have met many like you, but you are who I want."

She lets Ebris take a moment to absorb her words, picking herself back up to her feet in one graceful stand and brushes the dust off her coat. "We will give you what you need - food, a bed, work. But you will have to pull your own weight to get where your ambitions want you." As she gazes at Ebris, there is a twinkle in her eye, almost maniacal and yet so regal. "Aye, I promise you no easy life, but one worth your time."

Esmerelda glances at the other dragons who'd approached Ebris, a claw brushing against her pocket. She was a good sport and knew a few loses in her time, but as she glances at Din at the head of this showcase, Esmerelda also knew a good bribe would go a long way.

aaaa didn't know how to incorporate this, but I've got many plans for Ebris! He'd look good with Python and Capsule, and spending gems to hopefully give him Primal will go right in my To-Do list! additionally, bribes eh??

I am so happy to have the news Lyric and Gaara have accepted our offer from Aerewyn's Clan and we humbly request to solidify the offer made by Ratazi, as I instructed.

Let me know if you wish to have pure gems. It won't take long to get everything together. We are pleased to having them join our family.

Now you had mentioned Bios for these two sincce they don't have one s this correct? I love your writing style. I await your reply. Thank you again

Perched precariously on the bridge of his nose, a small pair of silver reading glasses glinted in the evening light, it's refractions joined the myriad of reflections cast by his beaded sash, Rohan was clearly deeply absorbed in the arcane knowledge inscribed on the page. This single-mindedness lead him to almost plow right into a pacing tundra. "Oh!" Rohan exclaimed, ears flicked back in surprise, as the fine fur along his spine stood up briefly, before falling back into it's usual place. "I-I'm so sorry Miss! I do apologize, I um, I really should have been looking where I was going- I-" A clear, musical voice cut across his as Rohan stammered his apologies. "This, dear one, is why you shouldn't read while we're travelling." A sleek pale ridgeback walked toward the pair, the crimson flowers upon her head catching the day's last light. The most beautiful depiction of twining red roses adorned her wings, an unmistakable calling card to all who had had the pleasure of knowing her. Upon catching sight of the snowy tundra, Somnia stopped in shock, staring at a familiar face. "Din!? Is that you old friend?" Rushing forward joyfully, Somina greeted Din happily. "It is so wonderful to see you again my friend, I hope all is well?" Rohan looked on, a quizzical expression on his face, but was content to let his mate explain how she knew this new dragon in her own time. Somina turned her head to him. "Din is a friend from my former clan" she explained. Turning her attention back to Din, eventually their conversation turned to how her former clan fared. After listening to Din's explanation, Somnia nodded thoughtfully. The corners of her eyes and mouth held a distinctly downward turn, lending the ridgeback a more somber air. Thanking Din for her company, she turned to her mate who had been waiting patiently as the two caught up. Touching her nose to his, the two murmured to each other for a time, before both dragons rose and made their way toward a few dragons Somnia recognized as old friends. "Greetings Lyric, Gaara, Meili! It has been too long since I have been in your company my friends." The ridgeback nodded at the pair of older dragons and the cheerful tundra calmly, but her sparkling eyes and restless tail belied her excitement at the sight of familiar dragons. "May I introduce to you my mate, Rohan?" Somnia stretched out a wing to gesture at the shy imperial, their tails entwined as easily as taking a breath. Dipping his head gracefully in their direction, Rohan smiled nervously. "H-hi! It's g-great to meet some of Somnia's friends." Flicking his ears back, he offered a sincere glance. "I'm sorry to hear about the situation that has lead you to search for a new home." "I too left our former clan because of the foretold hunger, and that is how Rohan and I met." At this, Somnia glanced at Rohan fondly. "He offered me a new home, a new purpose, and, well, we would like to offer you that as well. Our clan is located in the Ashfall Waste, atop the most active volcano." Her gaze swept over the three dragons before her and landed on the pearlcatcher. "The proximity of our forges to the Great Furnace mean that they produce the hottest fires, capable of working with any kind of metal. They would be perfect for you to work in Gaara, you would be able to own your own forge and design to your heart's content. To tell the truth, with the growth of our clan, we would greatly appreciate a master jeweler amongst us- young Vasilisa is self taught and I know she would be thrilled to learn from you." While Somnia spoke to Gaara, Rohan stepped a little closer to Lyric, his tail still entwined with the ridgeback's. The imperial lowered his head and smiled gently at the female snapper. "Ah, hello Miss Lyric! I-it's lovely to meet you, um, Somnia tells me that you have an excellence fashion sense?" He shuffled his large paws, appearing to be some-what shy. "A-as it happens our c-crafts guild could do with a new director of f-fashion. We have a great many dragons to dress, and they all seem to be very particular about their preferences and needs, and, ah, it's a bit hectic- you certainly wouldn't be b-bored, ahaha. You would be able to work with any material you desire, as our, um, merchant, is able to obtain anything you would wish for. Her m-methods may be a tad, um, unorthodox, but she always delivers. You would of course be given a choice of the available alcoves to set up your own shop or headquarters. I-in fact, I think there is a particular den I think might suit you and Gaara quite well- it's quite close to Somnia and I's, and there is enough room to run a shop in the front while leaving the rest for a den. There is also..." Smiling gently, he looked to have his mind elsewhere, murmuring in a wistful sort of way. "... lots of room for hatchlings." Shaking himself out of his thoughts, Rohan turned to Meili to address him. "One of the things our clan values is the o-opportunity to try new things. We have many kinds of jobs that c-contribute to making our clan a pleasant place to live, and if you're looking for a change of profession, there is no end of choices. In particular, I think you would be well suited to balancing our books or perhaps a chef? C-currently, our merchant Sayyida keeps t-track of the books herself, but she, um, sometimes forgets to h-hand in the records... but if you wanted to try your hand at that, you would n-naturally be given an office for all the work. It's pretty n-nice, actually- overlooks the volcano's crater, lots of windows." Rohan scractched his head in a rather sheepish manner, before continuing. "And, um, if you want to try your had at being a chef, it r-really doesn't matter if you've had any experience, because, uh, the last chef tried to feed someone grass and clay.,." A small shudder made it's way down the length of the imperial's back, before he noticed Somnia was finishing her conversation with Gaara. Turning her head, Somnia addressed Gaara, Lyric, and Meili together. Blushing slightly, Somnia shook her head, a smooth musical laugh escaping her. "But look at us, preaching to you! I'm sorry my friends. I'm sure you will receive many enticing offers, I only hope that you will consider ours. It would be a great gift to be able to enjoy your company in my new home, but I understand that you must make the best choice for yourselves. It has been wonderful to speak with you again, and I wish you to know you will always have a friend in Rohan and I, whatever choice you make. If you have any questions, please let the two of us know and we will gladly answer them." Both imperial and ridgeback smiled at the three dragons, before walking away, linked tails sweeping the ground behind them. ----- I'm sorry it's so long! I really didn't intend for it to drag on like this ^-^' I hope it's okay I used Somnia for this, and that I made them friends (I thought it made sense as I got her from you, but I can write something else if you'd rather that!). I didn't want to infringe on any existing lore, but I really dig the idea of Gaara as this experienced, grizzled, jeweler and that he constantly makes/designs stuff for Lyric. I also think she'd make a killer fashion consultant, haha. I'm less sure about what Meili could do in my clan, but he's very handsome! I just realized that my clan sorely needs a chef, lmao, the poor dergs have prob been starving for a while without any real cuisine!

It has been wonderful to speak with you again, and I wish you to know you will always have a friend in Rohan and I, whatever choice you make. If you have any questions, please let the two of us know and we will gladly answer them."

Both imperial and ridgeback smiled at the three dragons, before walking away, linked tails sweeping the ground behind them.

I'm sorry it's so long!

"What do you mean, Cherry?" Dimness looked at her. "Dim, please... I make clothes, Taqu makes toys, SilverTear makes jewelry..." She looked at Meili. "If you like paint, sculpt or draw you could open an workshop and sell your works! I am sure many of us would be happy to decorate our homes. Currently only Dimness can draw, but she don't have much time to do it." "True, I don't have time to do it." Dimness glanced at Cherry and then back at Meili.
