Hi! I do digital art for gems and USD and you can look at examples in my art shop below! My shop also has links to my tumblr for more examples. I currently have a couple of slots open. So far, I've managed to complete all commissions within three weeks of getting assigned. I provide three main progress reports: draft sketch, linework, base colors, so that the buyer can request tweaks and changes as I work.

I fully understand your misgivings about paying upfront! I take 50% of payment on approval of the sketch and the balance on approval of the flats/detailed line-art. I'll ask you for your PayPal address and invoice you!
I'm also willing to provide you with my email address via PM, if you'd prefer to contact me using more reliable methods! c:
Quick note, I'm currently fully slotted until June. But, assuming you commission me, I will be able to start work on your commission by next week!
