Also hagfish. They are so slimy. SO SLIMY. And they eat dead things. They have a skull but no vertebral column, the little weirdos!

LOWLAND STREAKED TENREC. It is like a duckling mixed with a hedgehog.

Finally, here is the pink dragon millipede. It's a tough cookie that produces cyanide as a defense mechanism.

I do so love Tasmanian devils, but spotted hyenas are close to the heart as well. Binturongs are pretty awesome too because they smell like popcorn!

Oh god. I've fallen really hard for bugs lately, which is weird because I am very, very timid of handling them. Just today I saw a worm wiggle out of the dirt and I vaulted myself out of the garden.

they're a lot like teeny cats with pixel-dot eyes. They'll even play with lazer pointers! I thought they'd be vicious little bugs, but Ive learned of so many who were so shocked and scared by their fruit fly food that they had to be hand-fed honey. Unexpected cuteness!

A pink katydid! Yes, they are naturally-occurring and can be found in the wild, its even the dominant colour - though they die out before the greens, yellows, and other shades. I'd love a colony of pinks, but apparently they are loud, and shipping them to canada would be a hassle.

telescope and glass octopus! what happens when you're forced into the same ecological niche as your prey? an evolutionary bluescreen is what. These octopus are entirely sea-through ((haha) save for some organs) and lay in wait for more visible prey to cast a shadow, all while avoiding the same fate themselves.
