Are you experiencing a redirect to a malicious website that tells you that you need to download something, or that your computer has a virus?
Please read this!

What I mean by redirecting is that when you click on a link that is supposed to direct you to something on Flight Rising, it will bring you to a website(s) that will claim your computer is under attack, your software is outdated, etc. A good chunk of the time this isn't any Ads from the site. This is malware on your computer. You don't have to download anything on your computer to get malware. It can just happen.
If you're experiencing this, here are a few tips to getting rid of it.

> Check your browser's plug-ins, scripts, and attachments.
Sometimes websites/ads can download things unknowingly into your browser or computer. Most of those kinds of malware would typically only display extra ads that will show up even though you're using Adblocker. They're pretty easy to find because most of them will be "shopping helper" ads/downloads. Make sure to delete any suspicious scripts, plug-ins, or attachments to your browser. If you do find them and delete them, make sure to go through your programs on your computer as well because the only way they're able to be on your browser is because a program or file is putting it there, permanently. Even despite you deleting it from your browser, as soon as you launch it again it will show back up. Find it's source.

> Check your program list for any unfamiliar programs that you're sure you didn't download.
These programs are typically downloaded when you're installing something you've been intending to install. Sometimes people will just keep clicking through the installation program for whatever they're download and won't notice the tabs that ask you if you'd like to download certain programs with your installation. This will probably, more than likely, download a malicious program that is intended to badger you all day and night. All of the programs will probably be named like such anti-virus, shopping guide, or toolbar. Make sure to purge your programs list every once in a while if you think you might have any of those issues.

> Download a good anti-malware/virus program.
I personally don't know A LOT of these programs because I typically don't get any viruses or malware. Don't go to Google and download a random one. Chances are, you're going to download one that will do the complete opposite of what you'd want. If you're afraid of any malware, I'd suggest MalwareBytes. It's a legit program that will delete any malicious files it can find and it also detects them when they're active on your computer. Ask around. People will give you suggestions on these kinds of programs to use!

I wanted to post this because I've seen that people are getting redirect links and I've experienced this kind of thing all too well not to give people advice. If I'm not allowed to post this here, please let me know. I've spent like 20 minutes typing this and I'd feel bad if I just wasted all this time. lol

Every time the Columbia College ad appears it causes lag. It shows up and immediately prevents whatever I'm doing in Flight Rising from happening. For example, I was going through my dragons and clicking on their Familiars. Other ads? No issue. Columbia College ad appears? I get the pop up with "spinning" and my game is frozen. The only way out of it is to refresh the page. It's getting annoying.

For what it's worth: I'm on a Mac. I'm using Safari. My browser and flash are up to date.

Please fix this.

Note: I originally posted this information in the Bug Report Forums. It had been suggested that I post it here. So, I will.

You may have taken the lead, but I'll even the score.
You won the battle, you won't win the war.
Not now, and

My friend @songofsilence is having an issue with ads. So much so that she couldn't even navigate the site to get here to report it herself. She's unsure what ad it is causing her problems, as her anti-virus program prevents the page from actually loading, but not from it messing up her site navigation. She does know of one that loaded called "Good Game Empire" but others are blocked by her anti-virus. She also sent me this screenshot of what is happening before the ads "go crazy" and start popping up and loading

@Jaffa That means your friend has malware. That's not the site. Ad-Aware by Lavasoft has a free version, and I've been using it for years. SUPERAntiSpyware looks like a gimmick with that over the top name, but it's got good recommendations. Malwarebytes is one of the leaders in this area, as well.

For antivirus, I like Avast or AVG.

For anti-malware my absolute favorite is Malwarebytes, but Spybot S&D is a close second. AdAware (if they're even still around) is a distant third.

I use HitmanPro as a backup method of anti-malware. It's meant to work with another anti-malware and not replace it. This is something useful to consider, as you can't expect any given anti-malware to be 100% perfect all the time.

Just received this ad:

I find it pretty inappropriate for a family-friendly site, both as an on-site image, and given the content of the comic it links to.

Was just clicking through the familiars in my lair and when I had finally reached the last hatchling at the end and clicked on to the next dragon (Which should be Mirxail, the first one)

I only got a glimpse of the dragon's page before suddenly being redirected to a porn site (adultfriendfinder). Clicking on the browser's back button returned me to the hatchling's page. When I went back to the same page again, the redirection did not happen again. Thank goodness.
