TOPIC | OPOSSUM SAGA

So I live in Southern Alabama and it's been raining here pretty hard the past two weeks off an on. I heard noises in my apartment walls two days ago and heard it SNORT. I figured a opossum had gotten in- I found the hole, and kept an eye on it. It's under my apartment and I'm guessing the bugger got up through the floorboards or what have you. Well this morning at seven am, I heard something in the pots and pans under my sink while I'm pouring milk, and this little bugger scuttles up my leg. Cute little ysalamir! And yes, he’s old enough to be in his own. He was seven inches long excluding tail, which put him at five months old, when opossum babs leave their mom. He's back in the woods, the hole is covered up and everyone's happy. Just thought I'd share some cute with y'all. Edit: Look who came back! He didn’t even put up a fight when I picked him up, hence why I’m sure it’s the same one. I gave him some water, but no food- didn’t want to encourage him to come back. Took him across the highway to the woods there instead of the woods by the apartment, then walked through a puddle to cover my scent trail.

Too cute! I found one under my sink once. They're so fearsome and growly. And adorable. North American marsupials for the win!

Oh, cute! Although the leg crawling thing seems terrifying. Glad you found and him and let him back outside!
We don't get things like that here in Tornado Alley and Fire Lane. We get ants and camel crickets.

Aww, that's adorable. I'm sad my raccoon story isn't that good...that thing was pure evil.

@dragonchilde He certainly growled and hissed at me, but once I picked him up and cleaned him off, he was as mild as a lamb. Opossums can be utterly sweet if treated carefully. I adore them.

@DragonChilde They REALLY ARE. My family's rescued so many of the little buggers and they're SUCH snugglebugs. They love being held like babies and being loved on. Ugh, I love opossums.
