It's truly a tragedy. Hilariously enough, I didn't even realized I cared about him at first until after his death! Like I didn't think much about him at the time I wasn't paying much mind. Then he died and it was like Oh.
Oh no. I liked that guy.
I really liked that guy. Woops. I fell in love after it was too late.

I was kind of the same way, though as it slowly dawned on me that he was the guilty one, that's when I started to realize that I didn't want him to be executed. The good always die young in my favorite games it seems.
That or I just have an uncanny knack for loving the doomed men from the start.
